HAPPY EARTH DAY đ
âĄď¸ WHY I MAKE ANTLER DOG TAGS?
Most dog tags are made from metal or silicone.
They workâbut they come from heavy processing, synthetic materials, and large-scale production.
I wanted something more natural, and more intentional.
⢠NATURALLY SHED â NOT HARVESTED
Deer and elk shed their antlers every year as part of their natural cycle. These are found after theyâve been droppedânothing is taken from the animal, and no farming is involved.
⢠USING WHAT ALREADY EXISTS
Metal requires mining, refining, and high-energy manufacturing. Silicone is synthetic, made from processed materials, and doesnât break down. Antler already exists in natureâso instead of creating something new, I repurpose whatâs already there.
⢠LOWER IMPACT, LESS WASTE
Mass production is built on volumeâthousands of identical products, excess inventory, and waste. I make each tag by hand, one at a time, so Iâm only using whatâs needed.
⢠BUILT TO LAST, NOT TO BE REPLACED
Antler is naturally strong and lightweight. It holds up to everyday wear, which means fewer replacements and less waste over time.
⢠SMALL SCALE MAKES A DIFFERENCE
When you support a small business, youâre not feeding a system that relies on overproduction. Youâre supporting slower, more intentional makingâwith fewer resources used overall.
⢠MADE LOCAL
Everything is made close to home. Less shipping, fewer miles, and a more direct connection to what youâre buying.
đ If youâre looking for dog products, try choosing ones that are made with the Earth in mind.
đ Supporting sustainable, small businesses using ethically sourced and environmentally friendly materials makes a real difference
