Behind the scenes — in Barcelona before Milan to visit LAMÁQUINA @lamaquina_3d large-scale robotic 3D printing and advanced manufacturing centre After working closely with craft-based processes over the past few projects, it felt refreshing to take a more technology-focused approach. For Edible Reveries with @artisia_pasta , we were able to create conceptual large-scale pasta-inspired furniture without the need for moulds or conventional fabrication methods. The daybed, rocker, lounge chair, and ottoman had only previously existed as sketches, mock-ups, and scaled models — so seeing them emerge at full scale for the first time felt especially surreal. Even more impressive was witnessing each piece being printed as a single continuous form through the carefully choreographed movements of a six-axis robotic arm. The furniture was conceived as a continuous gesture — drawn as though a single strand of spaghetti had begun sketching itself endlessly through space. This idea extends directly into the fabrication process itself through robotic 3D-printing using a pasta-coloured composite wood-filled PLA . During production, the robotic arm slowly rotates around the object, allowing the nozzle to maintain an almost right angle throughout the print. The result is a seamless one-piece structure: continuous, uninterrupted, almost like extruded pasta suspended in space. After a full day surrounded by towering robotic arms, layers of printed material, and experimental forms, we managed to capture some epic photographs within the factory itself which ended up published on the New York Times. A huge thank you @aldo.sollazzo @chiragrangholia @gabrielmartinez.ser the LAMÁQUINA team for their expertise, generosity, and collaboration in helping bring these pieces to life — and ultimately into the moments shared by visitors throughout Milan Design Week.

Have you ever set on a piece of pasta? At #milanodesignweek , I came across ARTISIA by @barillaitalia , the world’s first 3D-printed pasta, designed by @studioyellowdot Honestly, one of my favourite installations of the whole week, and not just because the concept is bold and unexpected. The aesthetic was impeccably minimalist and straight to the point. The designers cooked 🍝🙌🏻 . . . #mdw26 #fuorisalone #fooddesign #design

Pasta, for Italians, is never just pasta 🍝✨ It’s memory, ritual, craft — a whole culture in every bite. With Artisia, Barilla’s forward-thinking brand, this beloved staple is reimagined through the lens of design. And at Edible Reveries, an exhibition by Studio Yellowdot in the heart of Porta Venezia Design District, that vision becomes something you can actually step into. Dreamlike and unhurried, the space feels like a quiet pause amid the chaos of Milan Design Week 🌿💭 — an oasis where slowing down is not just allowed, but rewarded. The concept starts with a simple yet poetic idea: translating the pleasure of Artisia’s one-bite creations into a living environment. The result? Tattile — a site-specific collection of 3D-printed furniture inspired by oversized pasta shapes. Think chaise longues, daybeds, even rocking chairs 🍥 — all crafted in wood-composite filament by Barcelona’s LaMàquina. Digital, yet deeply familiar. For Studio Yellowdot, pasta becomes more than food: it’s a gesture. From code to texture to taste, it’s a sensory journey where precision meets intimacy 🤍 The atmosphere does the rest. Soft lighting casts a warm glow, while luxurious textiles by Élitis wrap the space in stillness. Nothing shouts — everything gently hums. And yes, you can taste it too 😋 Daily workshops invite guests to experience Artisia’s creations, including the intricate Spaghetto 3D, paired with non-alcoholic aperitifs. It’s a glimpse into a process where algorithms meet hand-kneaded tradition — where craft and code coexist beautifully. Even the pasta evolves: new shapes, soft fingertip impressions, infinity-inspired shells designed to be filled and shared ♾️ Because Edible Reveries isn’t just about design. It’s about new rituals, new ways of gathering, and rethinking how we experience something so familiar. Pasta — but not quite as you know it 🍝💫 📸 @just_andrea_fongo Read more on Archipanic. #milan #mdw2026 #milanodesignweek #designlovers

Come lounge in the EDIBLE REVERIES, the exhibition is an invitation to pause — to linger in conviviality and stumble upon unexpected delight. A quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of Milan Design Week With ARTISIA @artisia_pasta , we move from algorithm to instinct — from digital pathways back to the fingertips. Pasta becomes light, playful, almost weightless — freed from tradition, inviting a new ritual of touch, movement, and awakening the senses. Echoing the language of 3D-printed pasta, we developed a site-specific, 3D-printed furniture collection titled TATTILE — oversized pasta-inspired forms that blur the boundary between object and food. Designed for moments of pause within the act of eating, the series includes a daybed, rocking chair, and chaise lounge with integrated resting plates. Gentle yet structured, each form is digitally sculpted and 3D-printed in wood-composite PLA using multi-axis robotic arms at LAMÁQUINA printing center in Barcelona. Each piece cradles the body with quiet precision — where technology shapes the lines, and instinct shapes the experience. 📍 via Melzo 34, Porta Venezia 🗓️ 21-25 April | 10am - 7pm 26 April | 10am - 2 pm Special thanks to the LAMÁQUINA for engineering & printing the pieces @lamaquina_3d #milanodesignweek2026 #mdw2026

TATTILE — 3D-pasta designed by Studio Yellowdot A small choreography of gestures, where design is not only seen, but felt and tasted. We are very honored to launch our 3D-pasta during Milan Design Week at the exhibition EDIBLE REVERIES with Artisia by Barilla @artisia_pasta TATTILE — Italian for tactile — echoes hand-pinched dough and weaves human instinct into a precise algorithmic process. A new pasta collection with contoured surfaces bearing the soft imprint of a fingertip. Conceived as an infinity-shaped shell, each piece is designed to be filled and customised, layering contrast and complexity into a single bite. --- Our story with food & design began in Milan—during our Design Master’s—where we first saw food as more than nourishment, but as culture, ritual, and connection. Since then, we’ve been exploring how design and food can merge into one complete experience. Designing our own pasta felt like a natural step. A shape meant to be held, not just eaten—3D-printed pasta as finger food, inviting touch, curiosity, and all the senses. After many trials, we arrived at a form that feels instinctive in the hand—almost inevitable. Special thanks to the Artisia team for testing and developing this with us. Recipes by Chef Beatrice Guzzi @bea_guzzi 📍 via Melzo 34, Porta Venezia 🗓️ 21-25 April | 10am - 7pm 26 April | 10am - 2 pm Reserve your spot for 3D pasta tasting experience, available throughout the week - places are limited. /en/pages/edible-reveries Special thanks to our event partners: @elitisfrance @lamarquina_3d @pizzolatowine @portaveneziadesigndistrict_ 📸 Food Photography @ivelise_ph 📸 Portrait @aligulsener PR @chu.goldmann Otto Idee #milanodesignweek2026 #mdw2026

This is a dream made of pasta … For EDIBLE REVERIES, we focused on the exchange between hand, object, and bite — where digital precision becomes tactile and intimate. Technology allowed us to create what once felt impossible, yet the true beauty lies in the body’s response. Our latest journey took us deep into the heart of Italy’s Food Valley. We drove through quiet, scenic roads around Parma—fields, small towns, endless stretches of green—before arriving somewhere quite unexpected: the Artisia lab. A high-tech, innovative space where pasta meets precision, algorithms, and experimentation. That contrast stayed with us. Tradition and technology, side by side. We spent time inside the lab, immersed in their world—learning, testing, and exploring what 3D-printed pasta could become. Not just as food, but as form, texture, and experience. Now we’re bringing that journey to Milan, where we will present EDIBLE REVERIES—an exhibition that kneads together Italian cuisine, design, and innovation. What begins as a simple bite unfolds into something more: a multisensory experience. Taste hand-crafted, algorithmic 3d-printed pasta. Lounge on pasta-inspired furniture. Drift into new rituals of conviviality. A soft pause in the middle of Milan Design Week. An invitation to slow down, to feel, to play—one bite at a time. Thank you @artisia_pasta for inviting us on this journey. We look forward to welcoming you all! via Melzo 34, Porta Venezia @portaveneziadesigndistrict_ 21-25 April | 10 - 7pm 26 April | 10 - 1pm 20 April (Press/VIP) Reserve your spot soon for 3d pasta tasting experience — places are limited. /en/pages/edible-reveries
