Eem Valley Amersfoort, Netherlands Proposal Europan 18 - July 2025 The housing strategy at Koppelbrug starts from a simple belief: a neighborhood should grow with its people and strengthen the city around it. We created a diverse mix of homes for different stages of life, while also responding to a challenge in Amersfoort: many young people leave to study and find it difficult to return as a young professional. By offering compact starter apartments, we aim to make coming back a real option. At the same time, flexible family homes and comfortable apartments for seniors allow residents to move within the neighborhood as their needs change, supporting a stable and connected community. The architecture supports this diversity in living. Integrated planters are woven into the façades, forming a vertical gradient of greenery. This not only strengthens biodiversity, but also enhances privacy on lower levels and contributes to a healthier, more pleasant living environment. Project in collaboration with @base_archi and @landscape___choreographies , Thanks Fabio, Antun, Aleksandra and Ingrid

Eem Valley Amersfoort, Netherlands Proposal Europan 18 - July 2025 Alongside our proposal for Koppelbrug, we saw an opportunity to rethink the development of Kop van Isselt along the river Eem. The existing riverfront has a modest, small-scale character that we beleive is important to preserve. Instead of uniforming heights, we chose to let the architecture grow gradually. Starting low at the water’s edge and increasing in height as it moves inland. This approach became a guiding principle in shaping the volumes between @denieuwestad033 and De Schans. By carefully composing the roofscape in relation to the river, we created a subtle valley along the Eem. Whether viewed from within the city or from across the water, this layered skyline gives the area a distinct identity, and ultimately inspired the project’s name. Eem Valley Amersfoort, Netherlands Proposal Europan 18 - July 2025 Eem Valley reimagines a former post-industrial riverside area as a healthy, ecological urban extension of Amersfoort. With a diverse mix of housing, sports, and mobility functions, the site becomes a strategic step in the transformation of Kop van Isselt. Historically, the Eem has served as a vital connector to the industries along its banks, shaping a characteristic low-rise, informal urban fabric. Eem Valley builds on this heritage by exploring unconventional in-between spaces and allowing the area to gradually rise away from the river. Long a carrier of cultural identity, the Eem is further strengthened through this project, which reinforces and reinterprets its spatial heritage through a renewed urban plan. Project in collaboration with @base_archi and @landscape___choreographies , Thank you Fabio, Antun, Aleksandra and Ingrid

Office - Dezeen Awards Longlisted! Amsterdam, The Netherlands 2023 Our studio in Amsterdam West is one of fifteen projects competing in the "Small Workplace Interior" category, out of 4,300 submissions worldwide. It's a temporary workspace (intended for 5 to 8 years) built in an existing building that will likely be demolished in the near future. The project is characterized by simple materials, minimal waste, and straightforward detailing. It was designed integrally with specific adaptions in mind, but above all, so that it could be built by a single person. Amazing that the space where we sit daily, and the construction of which is carried out entirely in-house (structure, finishes and all custom furniture), receives this recognition! The shortlist will be announced in October and the award ceremony will take place in November. Fingers crossed! @dezeenawards @ingenieursnap #zelfbouw #interiorarchitecture #forbo

Sporenvangers Norg, Netherlands FAN24-object, July 2024 Lars Goossens Architect + Studio Vincent Architecture One year and seven days ago we drove off to Norg to assemble our folly as part of @FollyArtNorg . We were relieved that we managed to set it up in 4 days: everything that could go wrong went right. But still, in order to get there we needed about three months of experiments and intense preparation to get everything ready for the build of Sporenvangers. The main ingredient was mycelium (the root-like structure of a fungus). A material we never worked with before which needed about 3 weeks production time per panel (mixing, growing, drying and baking). With 69 panels and some back-ups to be made, the studio was transformed into a peculiar smelling mycelium growth factory where we produced panels in batches of 18. The Sporenvangers stood in the sunny, windy, rainy and stormy outskirts of Norg for six weeks. And without any treatment the mycelium panels held up great in the outdoors! We where honestly surprised about their performance. Making us wonder even more when this material will have its breakthrough in architecture and furniture to become a commonly used material. At the end of August 2024 the festival was over and we took our folly back home. Within an hour we had it all demounted. Very surreal. Currently the Sporenvangers are stored, and maybe still growing, but definitely available for a second go. Office Amsterdam, The Netherlands 2023 The office is a retrofit in an existing industrial building. The beige masonry, zinc paneling and powerful wooden beams proved to be such a strong palette, that the design needed no new color input. When closed, the corrugated sheets create a light and introvert space. But when all the pivoting windows are openend, the space is completely transformed and appears as a sort of roofhouse next to the collective interior courtyard.

Office Amsterdam, The Netherlands 2023 As a temporary residence (5–8 years) for our own studio, the core objective was to create a translucent, lightweight, and low-tech intervention. These ingredients combined result in details such as simple custom-made hinges, on-site laminated plywood, lightweight translucent sheeting, and a site-complementing color scheme.
