For the longest time, I’ve dreamed of building a community of artists, a place we call home. A place where we get to create, a safe space to share ideas, brainstorm, and be surrounded by hearts that wish nothing but to support and create with one another. By now, you may know me and “writing,” and of course, I had to write about this story too. I wrote something years ago, saying I wanted to build a collective, an artists’ studio. I graduated and held onto that dream so close to my heart, looking for someone who might share the same dream and be equally passionate and motivated to combine our dreams and make them intertwine. Well, that was until I met my partner, not just in studio untitled but in so many things, Shamsa @sh_o . Just like her name, she was the light that lit up that dream. Together, we searched and searched, visiting so many spaces, but nothing felt right. That was until 201 came along. We entered the space, I don’t know if it was the magic of the shadows dancing in the space, the terrazzo tiles, or the early 2000 telecom, but we looked at each other and knew this was the start of everything. We knew something beautiful was about to happen, we saw the potential, we believed. Studio Untitled came to life in June 2023, in a small apartment in the heart of Abu Dhabi, our beloved apartment 201. It all started with two... It came to life with three... It flourished with six... It’s taking its first step with eight... It’s a bittersweet moment leaving the place that held all our soft whispers and dreams of the future, that welcomed us with dancing shadows and orange hues, but we’re ready to share this dream with people who equally believe in it. So it’s time to leave 201, but we’re taking a glimpse of it with us too. Thank you, dear reader, for believing in studio untitled. Thank you for giving us a chance, and thank you for being our community. We’re excited to share our new home with you, to share our journey with you. studio untitled will open its doors to every bit of you soon.

Story Behind the Burnt Orange: Studio Untitled is a space full of natural light, becoming a warm space full of dancing shadows throughout the day. When we first moved in, there were three of us, each with different tastes, making it hard to agree on furniture. We visited many stores in Abu Dhabi, but we all had different tastes, and it was difficult to make a decision and agree on something. Well, until we saw the orange sofa. We all sat on it, looked at each other, and knew this was the one. Our sofa was the very first piece of furniture that went into the space; it is where it all began. It was our dream catcher. And that’s where the orange in our brand comes from, it is a reminder of the warmth we felt at that moment.

In June 2023, studio untitled transformed from a simple dream into a reality. Today, we are one year old and soon will be taking our first step into a bigger dream! Stay tuned to meet new members, new location, and so many more untitled things🧡
