Inspired by the architecture of Luis Barragan dealing with the experience of physical space and colour. We invited artist
@lotje_van_lieshout whose work features complex and nuanced colour, to respond to this inspiration in the form of abstract spatial artworks. These works cover the space, playing with perception.
Handmade strokes are amplified, and ‘shadows’ traverse the ‘walls’ defining the space. Spatial dividers appear heavy and imposing, yet in a twist, are actually paper and lightweight, continuing our exhibition focus of minimising materials.
