Table ( 04 ) continues the design language first introduced with Table ( 01 ), evolving its architectural presence and material expression. The piece expresses a direct connection to its materials: raw limestone sourced from quarries in central France forms its structural base, the result of an extensive research process. This mineral mass is paired with an oak countertop, bringing warmth and tactility into balance with the stone’s density. Defined by strong geometry and precise proportions, the table has an architectonic presence—both grounded and sculptural. Each piece is produced manually in the Studio Torbina’s workshop, emphasizing craftsmanship and attention to detail. Presented during Milan Design Week in “Obsessions: A Self Portrait” curation by Openhouse Magazine, Table ( 04 ) is now available to order on Enquire at [email protected] Photos by @eseniyaa

REBIRTH STOOL, 2025 - 2026 The Rebirth Stool is the studio’s very first piece, marking the beginning of its exploration of big stone blocks as a primary material. Carved from pink sandstone sourced in Saulzais-le-Potier (France), the stool embodies a raw yet refined approach to design. Its form introduces a subtle triangular geometry, an early sign of a shape that would later become a recurring element in the studio’s work. On view at @smbureau_design_galerie

The low TABLE ( 03 ) is sculpted from a single block of limestone, where the legs emerge in a bold zig-zag formation, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, giving the stone a sense of movement despite its weight. Above, the oak top introduces warmth and tactile contrast, softening the graphic geometry of the base. Architectural yet expressive, the piece balances solidity with visual lightness — a monolithic form transformed into a functional sculpture. Story behind each object. The most recent CHAIR ( 03 ) feels less like an object and more like a quiet evolution. Carved from limestone and cherry wood, the piece carries a sense of continuity with the studio’s previous collection, extending its language rather than redefining it. The cherry wood, found and carefully sculpted by hand, retains its natural irregularities—knots, marks, and subtle traces of time that give it a poetic depth. These imperfections are not corrected but embraced, allowing the material to speak with honesty and warmth. Each curve follows the grain rather than imposing upon it, resulting in a form that feels both intentional and organic. Part of REBIRTH curation, on view in @smbureau_design_galerie until end of May.
