Bespoke, solid oak gate This project allowed us the opportunity to design multiple custom features, with the gate itself acting as a focal point, drawing the eye through to the back of the garden. With its rich colours and robust form, clad in differing dimensions of oak to break up the visual rhythm, our intention with our choice of material was to create characterful timeless elements that would age gracefully, developing their unique patinas over the years to come.

Crafted from oak, using traditional joinery to ensure lasting quality. We design our furniture with a focus on longevity and sustainability. Prioritising sustainable materials and techniques that are inspired by Japanese temple carpentry - which has withstood the elements for 1000+ years. These intricate joinery techniques, that highlight and glorify the naturally robust qualities and beauty of real hardwood, remove the need for fixings and glues which can perish over time. #japanesejoinery #furnituredesign

We wanted this project to be an urban pocket of lush greenery where the carefully selected planting could take over and grow wild within its boundary walls. The wildness of the planting is offset by the formality of rectilinear pathways made from limestone slabs. We laid these in differing patterns and scales, to characterise the feeling of each of the zones that make up the space. The perimeter walls, painted in a dusty pink, form a backdrop to birch trees, cherry and a large wall of climbing evergreen jasmine whilst wispy grasses, luscious evergreen Fatsias and bright pops of purple verbena flank the paths. At the back of the garden is an outdoor seating area with potted trees providing structure and height to give a feeling of seclusion and protection. The grasses turn to russet oranges during the later months of the year, giving autumn and winter interest when the perennial plants are dormant. #gardendesign #gardeninspiration #urbangarden

With this garden in Hackney, we were thinking about obscuring and revealing. By breaking up sight lines from the interior of the house with tall planting and structural elements, we played with what was visible and what was hidden, setting the rhythm of how the different areas reveal themselves as you are drawn through the garden. #gardendesign #gardeninspiration #urbangarden

Completed in 2022 in Angel, North London, this project is a modern take on a Mediterranean courtyard retreat. We took cues from our client’s ties to Spain, France, and North Africa, crafting a garden that harmonises the materials, colours, and textures of these regions. Bold forms make up the different levels of the garden, which we softened with planting, lighting and subtle differences found in the handmade terracotta tiles. #gardendesign #gardeninspiration #urbangarden
