There's some new faces here (hi!), so I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Briar, a PhD student studying art here in Japan. I learned about koginzashi embroidery while interning in Aomori prefecture years ago. Over this past year, I started making koginzashi and koginzashi inspired tapestries.

This one really grew on me. I remember working on this embroidery during bus trips between Nagoya and Tokyo when my partner and I were long distance. It was my least favorite for a while, but with time, I grew to really love it. I'd like to do another colorway of this composition.

My second koginzashi! This one was really fun because I "free-stitched" all of the patterns as I went along. I'd like to do another embroidery like this one using just one of the diamond patterns. Some day. 😅
