The opening number is always an important creative challenge for me (Casey ☺️), because it presents the underlying theme of the show. This year was all about unity. For the last several months, I have had this vision of bringing us together with Obi’s family of dancers in Nigeria. I explained to him what I wanted to do, and he and his crew made it happen!! This was a huge group project, and it was so much fun to be a part of. I hope we can all work together in person someday 🩵🩵
There’s a unity among this group of people that is so powerful. We feel it when we are working in the classroom, socializing in the lobby, and this weekend, we felt it on the stage. Our students have a profound passion and joy for performance, our parents are incredibly supportive and dedicated, our staff is loyal and believes so strongly in our children. We are so grateful to have 11 seasons behind us, and look forward to season 12! 🩵✨

A couple of weeks ago, three of our students came to us with an envelope. They had been selling slime, and wanted to donate the proceeds to the studio to help with the flood damage we sustained back in January. Fortunately, our insurance fully covered the damage, but we asked if it would be okay to put the money on the account of a family that could use a little extra help. Of course they said yes, and so their hard-earned $66 will be making a difference in the life of a fellow dancer. Harlow, Emily, and Zoe, your big hearts and generous spirit is so appreciated, and we’re grateful to have kids like you in our world 🩵

With 390 entries from 19 studios, @turnitaroundtour was a whirlwind!! We already love this competition for a million and one reasons, but the venue this year made it a million and two 😍 We achieved new personal bests this weekend, and made lots of new friends along the way! Thanks to the TIA team for ALWAYS putting kids first, and creating such a healthy and memorable experience for all ❤️
