At the end of 2022, I had the pleasure to work with @matthewhalsallmusic to make 2 very special tapestries for his upcoming album and tour, 'An Ever Changing View'. The tapestry was made with hand dyed wool with a bespoke deconstructable oak frame, designed and made by @chrisgabe0 . Over the next few weeks, I will share more progress photos along with details of the brief...but for now, here's the album cover in all its wondrous glory. Made in London, photographed in Wales, where the album was written 🎺✨️ You have the chance to see the tapestries and hear Matthew's beautiful music live at the Royal Albert Hall in September. Ticket information is available in @matthewhalsallmusic bio. Thank you for collaborating with me! What a result! 🔸️🔵🔻◻️🔶️🟩🟡🔹️

I teamed up with @cmphotovideo a few years ago to make this beautiful video of me and my Dryad Tapestry Loom. We made this video together in lockdown, and the time has finally come to share it with you. The video highlights the weaving process, from start to finish, from measuring a warp and threading the loom to the finished woven fabric. Weaving is a slow and calming process, which is one of the main reasons I love it. It allows me to truly unwind, and focus on being present with the work. I hope this video represents the serenity that I feel when I weave and hear the sounds of the loom....A true delight to the eyes and ears! I'd love to know your thoughts so please get in touch. Enjoy! Also a huge thankyou to my super talented friend @cmphotovideo for getting this together ❤️ #sarakelly #sarakellytextiles #studiosarakelly #dryadtapestryloom #weaving #tapestryweaving #tapestry #artist #weaversofinstagram #weaver #craft #art #arthubstudios

Threads of Sanctuary An Interwoven Collective Project, Threads of Sanctuary was the culmination of an eight-week programme of textile workshops created for and with migrant, refugee and asylumseeker communities in Lewisham. Supported by the Lewisham Borough of Sanctuary Fund, South East Arts London, and Lewisham Arthouse, the project invited participants into a shared creative space to learn, experiment and connect through textiles. Across the eight sessions, the group explored a wide range of textile practices, including indigo dyeing, quilting, embroidery and printing. Returning each week, participants developed new skills and gradually quilted together individual pieces that reflect their personal journeys through the project. These quilts celebrate resilience, creativity and a sense of belonging - each one an individual narrative of lived experience, memory and place. The exhibition also included responses by Interwoven Collective members, Janine Nelson, Jo Cooper, Maggie Williams and Sara Kelly, whose own practices have been shaped by working alongside the group. Their contributions sit in dialogue with the participants’ pieces, honouring the shared learning, care and exchange that defined the project. At its heart, Threads of Sanctuary is a testament to the power of making together. It reflects the ways in which textiles can hold stories, bridge cultures and create room for joy, grounding and connection. Through stitching, dyeing and shared conversation, the project became a place of welcome, a temporary sanctuary created by collective hands. With gratitude to all who took part: Angela, Elizabeth, Eliza, Debbie, Diane, Hanwen, Nosima, Siqing and Zaya. Your creativity, openness and generosity shaped this exhibition and the community it represents. Thanks to Lewisham Borough of Sanctuary, SEAL, Lewisham Arthouse, and to our late Arthouse member Basia, whose legacy continues in this project, through the use of her fabric. 📸 @cmphotovideo

In our 4th workshop, we delved into basic printing techniques using everyday objects. Every artwork reveals our individuality and diverse interests. #boroughofsanctuary #textiles #printing #textileart

Our week 3 workshop was all about our hands; greeting, helping, holding. We used bonding web to make fabric collages, cut out our hands prints, and arranged both the positive and negative pieces to make panels. Thank you to #joaniecraftclub for donating some fabulous fabrics for us the use.

Loom Room X Green Man ‘25 We had a great time hosting weaving workshops at @greenmanfest this year! Across the weekend, we ran both tapestry weaving sessions with @studiosarakelly and a communal weaving fundraiser in support of the @thesameerproject Gaza medical aid campaign. We’ll be continuing our fundraiser to raise more money for @thesameerproject - more info coming soon! Big thank you to loom roomer @tim_offredi for all the love and support and @artisaneventswales for having us!
