Tayyare Kültür Merkezi’nde zemin katta yer alan Kokteyl Salonu, kafe ve kütüphane işlevleriyle yeniden ele alındı; mekân, gün boyu erişilebilir ve canlı bir kamusal alana dönüştürüldü.
At Tayyare Cultural Center, the cocktail hall located on the ground floor was reinterpreted as a cafe and library; the space was transformed into an accessible and active environment that functions throughout the day.
Mod Offshore Fabrika projesinde, müdahale alanının farklı bölümlerini birbirine bağlamak amacıyla, yapıyı koruyucu bir kabuk gibi saran yarı geçirgen alüminyum cephe kullanılmıştır. Bu cephe, uzun yüzey boyunca balkon işlevi görürken aynı zamanda güneş kontrolü sağlayarak tüm kütleyi tek ve bütüncül bir mimari ifadede birleştirmektedir.
In the Mod Offshore Factory project, a semi-transparent aluminum facade, enveloping the structure like a protective shell, was used to connect different sections of the intervention area. This facade functions as a balcony along its long surface while also providing solar control, unifying the entire mass into a single, holistic architectural expression.

Tayyare Kültür Merkezi’nde kafe ve kütüphane olarak yeniden işlevlendirdiğimiz kokteyl salonunda, yapıda mevcut malzeme paletini sürdüren, sıcak bir dil benimsenmiştir. Kitap rafları ve çalışma tezgahında doğal ceviz dokusu, kafe masalarında ise mermer tabla ve pirinç görünümlü metal ayak kullanılarak sade ve davetkâr bir ortam oluşturulmuştur.
In the cocktail hall that we have repurposed as a café and library at the Tayyare Cultural Center, a warm design language has been adopted that continues the building’s existing material palette. Natural walnut texture has been used in the bookshelves and study counters, while marble tabletops and brass-look metal legs have been used for the café tables, creating a simple and inviting atmosphere.

Çaycuma Organize Sanayi Bölgesi'nde yer alan Mod Offshore Fabrika projesi, alanın farklı kısımlarını bağlayan genişletilmiş alüminyum bir cephe kabuğu ile sarılmıştır. Bu kabuk, hem koruyucu bir tabaka oluşturarak balkon ve gölgelendirme sağlar hem de kütleyi bütüncül bir mimari ifadede birleştirir.
The Mod Offshore Factory project located in the Çaycuma Organized Industrial Zone is wrapped in an expanded aluminum façade shell that connects different parts of the site. This shell not only forms a protective layer—providing balconies and shading—but also unifies the mass into a cohesive architectural expression.
İstanbul Serbest Mimarlar Derneği’nin “I2P - Idea to Product” projesi kapsamında, MEF FADA bünyesinde düzenlenen ve yürütücülüğünü Ali Derya Dostoğlu ve Uğur Özer’in üstlendiği “RAW (HAM)” başlıklı dersin final jürisi ve sergi açılışı, 12 Mayıs Salı günü 14:00–18:00 saatleri arasında, Öktem Aykut'ta gerçekleşecek.
Ders kapsamında, öğrencilerin malzeme, üretim ve mekân ilişkisine odaklanan tasarım ve uygulama çalışmaları izleyicilerle buluşuyor. “RAW (HAM)” teması etrafında şekillenen üretim sürecinin çıktıları, fikirden ürüne uzanan tasarım yolculuğuna birlikte bakma imkânı sunuyor.

As part of the “I2P - Idea to Product” project by the Istanbul Association of Architects in Private Practice the final jury and exhibition opening of the course titled “RAW (HAM),” organized within MEF FADA and led by Ali Derya Dostoğlu and Uğur Özer, will take place on Tuesday, May 12, between 14:00–18:00 at Öktem Aykut.
Within the scope of the course, students’ design and implementation works focusing on the relationship between material, production, and space will be presented to the audience. The outcomes of the production process shaped around the theme “RAW (HAM)” offer an opportunity to explore the design journey from idea to product.

Ayvacık yamaçlarında, Assos yakınındaki doğal topografyaya yerleşen Arazi; otel, bungalovlar, kamp alanı ve ses stüdyosu gibi işlevleri ana bir aks boyunca kurgulayarak ortak yaşamı destekleyen bütüncül bir kırsal yerleşim öneriyor. Yerel malzemeler ile çağdaş yapım tekniklerini bir araya getiren proje, peyzajla uyumlu ve sürdürülebilir bir mimari dil benimsiyor.
Another piece of great news comes from Arazi! Our Arazi project has been awarded in the “Tourism Buildings” category at the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2026.
The site, situated on the slopes of Ayvacık near Assos and integrated into the natural topography, proposes a holistic rural settlement that supports communal living by organizing functions such as a hotel, bungalows, camping areas, and a sound studio along a main axis. Combining local materials with contemporary construction techniques, the project adopts an architectural language that is harmonious with the landscape and grounded in sustainability.

Ormos Tartışık Kuzey Etabı projemiz, BIG SEE Architecture Award 2026 kapsamında “Konut” kategorisinde ödüle layık görüldü.
Projede doğal taş ve sıvanın birlikte oluşturduğu yalın malzeme diliyle eğime yerleşen kütleler, peyzajla bütünleşiyor. Farklı kotlarda konumlanan yerleşim sayesinde tüm birimler manzarayla güçlü ve kesintisiz bir ilişki kuruyor.
Our Ormos Tartışık North Phase project was awarded in the “Residential – Housing” category at the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2026.
In the project, masses placed along the slope are integrated into the landscape through a restrained material palette of natural stone and plaster. The settlement, organized across different levels, enables all units to maintain a strong and uninterrupted relationship with the view.

Yapıyı saran yarı geçirgen alüminyum kabuk ve içinde konumlanan “Hangar” ile farklı müdahaleler tek bir mimari dil altında birleşirken, mekânsal süreklilik ve iklimsel kontrol birlikte sağlanır.
Located in the Çaycuma Organized Industrial Zone, the Mod Offshore Factory project presents a comprehensive industrial design that expands by converting the existing factory structure into office space while adding new production spaces at the rear. The semi-permeable aluminum shell enveloping the structure and the “Hangar” situated within it bring together diverse interventions under a single architectural language, ensuring both spatial continuity and climate control.

At the cocktail hall within the Tayyare Cultural Center, which we have repurposed as a café and library, the plaster behind the counter has been stripped away to reveal the original wall masonry, and the suspended gypsum board ceiling has been removed to expose the full ceiling height and the reinforced concrete beams.

In the Ormos Tartışık North Phase, massing is organized in alignment with function, while the distinction between stone and plaster further emphasizes these movements, creating depth and dynamism on the façade.
