As soon as I saw photos of @orange.house.cafe I couldnāt wait to draw it. First time I stepped in I chatted with @the.opti.mystic as she gushed about how it evoked childhood memories. This space is one of the few coffee/cafe spots with lots of seating, and maybe the only place with floral arrangements running across the ceiling. I love it. It sets a calm environment. A place where you can work, meet friends, get lunch, or just drop in for coffee - and youāll have a great experience. Really happy this place is here now. AND itās right where @theartgenerators are going to have their Sept 20 event!

It's not very often than I get a brand new coffee shop to draw but as soon as they open I will be there drawing you can bet on that. The solitary sandpiper (Tringa solitaria) is a small shorebird. The genus name Tringa is the New Latin name given to the green sandpiper by Aldrovandus in 1599 based on Ancient Greek trungas, a thrush-sized, white-rumped, tail-bobbing wading bird mentioned by Aristotle. The specific solitaria is Latin for āsolitaryā from solus, āaloneā.

The lesser yellowlegs (Tringa flavipes) is a medium-sized shorebird. The specific flavipes is from Latin flavus, āyellowā, and pes, āfootā.

The pectoral sandpiper (Calidris melanotos) is a small, migratory wader that breeds in North America and Asia, wintering in South America and Oceania. It eats small invertebrates. Its nest, a hole scraped in the ground and with a thick lining, is deep enough to protect its four eggs from the cool breezes of its breeding grounds. The pectoral sandpiper is 21 cm (8.3 in) long, with a wingspan of 46 cm (18 in).

Fun fact, Jerry Rose was one of the first spots I drew after drawing coffee shops. I ran out of coffee shops and I didnāt know what to do. So I GOT a coffee (from @theablebaker obvs) and posted up at Jerry rose. This was my first attempt to see if I could pull it off in a place where normally, people donāt linger for a while with a coffee. Obviously, it went fine and Iāve done a jillion of them since then.

South orange is top of my list for shops to draw this year. Keep your eyes peeled people. Iāll be out there.
