Ubud Open Studios returns June 5–7, 2026, inviting art lovers to step directly into the private creative spaces of over 60 local and international artists across Ubud and Gianyar, Bali. From painters and ceramicists to textile designers, photographers, and architects, this three-day event offers a rare opportunity to witness artists at work firsthand.
Ubud Open Studios is held to reconnect visitors and participants with the authentic creative process that usually happens behind the scenes — tangible results from previous years: participants have successfully built long-term collaborations, received commission work, and even opened international exhibitions through connections made during the event.

A hands-on workshop inspired by the tradition of wayang and Indonesian storytelling culture. Together we’ll create our own modern wayang character using recycled cardboard through sketching, painting, cutting, and assembling techniques.

1. We will be having our very first group exhibition at TAT in Denpasar (opening night 6th June, more TBA).
2. We will also be participating in Ubud Open Studios (5th–7th June). We’ll be posting more details about this soon as well.

"Wayang, a traditional Indonesian puppet theatre recognized by UNESCO, combines storytelling, music, and art, with roots in Java and Bali. The performances, led by a master puppeteer (Dalang), often feature stories from the Ramayana or Mahabharata and are renowned for conveying moral and philosophical messages."
With Kak Modjo we learned how to make our Modern Wayang puppets, start from sketching our Wayang character or monster on a cardboard, painting, cutting and making into a Wayang puppets. 🤗🦖🌵🐲

This piece explores the tension between industrial greed and nature. On one side, we have the paper figure (a symbol of our relentless push to harvest the forest without a second thought for the ecosystem). On the other, the figure of a woman representing Mother Earth quietly pleading for the chance to breathe, grow, and restore the natural harmony we've disrupt.

They didn’t ask for this. Kids should be playing in a garden full of flowers in fields, not watching the sky for smoke. War has no winners when it’s the most vulnerable who pay the price. Let’s protect their future, not destroy it.

"Tanah Air ku Indonesia"
Tanah adalah hakikat: pra kondisi paling primitif bagi keberlangsungan hidup manusia. Relasinya begitu sederhana dan kental, kehidupan bermula, berlangsung dan berakhir di atas tanah.
Tanah adalah tempat menyemai, belajar dan tumbuh berkembang sesuai dengan lingkungannya. Hari ini kita menyaksikan jutaan orang tanpa tanah. Bagi sebagian besar masyarakat terutama generasi baru, harga tanah semakin tidak masuk akal dengan pendapatan perkapita yang segitu gitu aja. Bahkan mereka yang memiliki tanah pun tetap dikategorikan sebagai "tanah informal" mereka harus siap "direlokasi" kapanpun negara menghendaki.
Frasa "Tanah Air ku Indonesia" hampir-hampir tidak relevan bagi kita. Masa depan kita adalah masa depan tanpa tanah "tanpa tempat berlindung di hari tua, sampai akhir menutup mata".
