Last month I didn’t spend a lot of time with my sketchbook, pencils or crayons (and when I did I was in for a surprise 👀), but I had a busy month charging my mental and physical batteries in a lot of different ways. From visiting exhibitions, to diy’s for my house, to a lot of cleaning and organising and getting rid of stuff, to being part of an artist residency at Industriemuseum, to spending time outside in nature, to dreaming up crazy plans just because some friends and me got a sudden opportunity that felt too good to waste.
May has some cool things in store for me as well. For starters I’m tabling at the Makersmarkt at ZOO-Ateliers next Saturday in Ghent, so feel free to pop by!

I finally finished some of the ceramics I've been working on (some I started in May 🙈). This was my first time using paint on glazes and wew, I'm in love 😍 I especially love the green on the flower. It has so many different shades 💚
I was lucky @julievanwezemael was there to hold my hand, because otherwise I think I would have stuck to using underglazes forever 😆
I'm bringing these pieces to @prenteartmarket . It's the only market I'm doing this summer, so get your ass to Knokke on August 16th if you would like to adopt a flower, birdie or a tiny coffin
✅ Positive things about burnout: getting some inspiration for making a new zine
❌ Negative things about burnout: fucking up printing said zine because of a brain meltdown halfway through and having to do a second take
But I did it, I finished my new zine, Queen of Tears! where I rate (some) of my experiences going through burnout. Mostly not-fun stuff, but some fun stuff as well.
Did some handstitching as well, because what's more therapeutic than stabbing a needle through things? 💛

I started a 100 Day Project, which I will approximately finish in about 543 days. Who would've thought that a brain that thrives on random chaos, doesn't do well with consistency? Certainly not me. 🙈 (Look, there's a river in my brain and it's called denial ok)
It's ok though, I'm taking my time and having fun, which is the most important part (and I'm going to embrace my chaos gremlin more, so this will probably be more a 100 Pieces Project, because it is the way)

I don't know about you, but I'm someone who constantly loses track of time. I'm never on time and to be honest some days I barely know what day it is. 🙈 I keep track of most things in a calendar app, but I kind of miss just looking up at a wall, seeing a cool calendar that has a complete overview of the year and knowing that it's Friday and my deadline is approaching... And I wouldn't be me if my solution wasn't "let's design one!". So here's a little sneak peek of the 2025 calendar I'm working on. The header is all sketched out, I have plans involving lots of texture, maybe some RISO and some very nice thick paper 😍 I'm curious though, do you use a paper calendar?
#peachtober24 day 12 was Earth - I got my watercolor paints out and had a great time painting this. Not sure how I feel about the colour combo, it's a bit different from what I usually use, but I'm trying to embrace experimenting a bit during Peachtober.
