Here are the results of the award ceremony! You can find all of the movies on our YouTube channel to which the link is in the bio.
During the screening Little Miss Spotlight and Her Magical Fairy Lights surprised us with unique humor and an unexpected contribution to the thriller genre (personally I was really hoping at least one of the groups would use the fairy lights, the prop, to strangle someone), which got them the Best Movie Award.
Perpetual Motion kept us on edge with an unsettling atmosphere and uncertainty about which direction the narrative will take. The story got told through a creative use of shots, which is really impressive in the short amount of time they had to create the movie. Undoubtedly, this granted them Best Cinematography!
De Grote Show won Best Use of Prop with their absurdist humoristic road trip movie, where a lot of people ended up in the back trunk of the car.
The Jump took home both the award for Best Editing and Audience’s Choice - as the actors, the montage scene and a fake horse stole the audience’s and of course the jury’s and the board’s hearts. 🐴
A very special thank you to our jury, Ed Spencer, Susanne Hagen and Susan Mulder, who held a much better speech at the award ceremony than we could ever write into this caption. Thank you for showing up and your impeccable effort, which made all of our evenings.
Finally we get to share some pictures from the screening that we hosted last Monday, presenting the shorts that the participating groups made for our short film competition Film 49.
The evening was filled with a few unexpected activities in between the program points. Our wonderful MC, Nia, interviewed the groups and we held a joke competition before moving on to the awards.
Overall, we cannot thank enough for how active and enthusiastic everyone was who came. A thousand times thanks for coming to support your friends, teachers, our organization. This Monday evening meant a lot to us and hopefully see you all again next year!
Stay tuned for tomorrows post revealing the results of the award ceremony!
