This vessel is carved from a single piece of oak, cut directly from the trunk of a tree. The form sits somewhere between a trough and a baptismal basin — heavy, grounded, almost brutal in its presence, yet softened by rounded edges and flowing lines.
The surface has been burned with flame. This process darkens the wood and reveals its inner structure, allowing the natural grain to emerge with greater depth and contrast. The fire does not hide the material; it uncovers it.
Marks from the saw and chisel remain visible in places. They are left intentionally, allowing the process of making to linger on the surface. The object carries both the trace of the tree and the trace of the hand that shaped it.
Oak is dense and heavy, and the piece holds this weight physically and symbolically. Its form evokes containment — a place for water, for washing, for gathering. Associations of purification, transition, and renewal quietly resonate within the object.
The work moves between opposites: brutal and organic, natural and human-made, raw and composed. It reflects an appreciation for imperfection and time — a sensibility close to wabi-sabi — while also drawing from the stark material presence found in brutalist architecture and the dark, sculptural language.
The oval hollow at its center suggests a space of beginning. It echoes the idea of a basin or cradle, hinting at renewal and return. In this way the object moves between sculpture and use: a place for things to rest, and a small gesture toward cycles of transformation.

Between root and sky, chaos finds its order.
The chair was born from birch branches — tangled like thoughts before meditation.
Its seat, smooth spruce — the stillness that follows.
Stained in black to dissolve identity, to reveal only form.
A meeting of earth and ether, body and soul.

A wagon for my daughter. A refuge. A space for retreat and comfort.
This wooden Bauwagen once spent years on construction sites, carrying the marks of work, weather, and time. Now it begins a second life – restored by hand, with care and intention.
The large round window was salvaged from a late-19th-century house that no longer exists. Today it offers light and view once again – like a captain’s porthole, opening to an endless horizon.
Inside, the space invites stillness: to sleep, to read, to meditate, to be. A small wood stove brings warmth, creating a cocoon of quiet and closeness.
This is more than design – it’s upcycling with purpose, where history and sustainability meet. By giving old materials a new life, the wagon carries a light footprint, a low CO₂ balance, and a story worth telling.
A humble wagon. A small universe of wood, warmth, and renewal.

Nature changes without effort. One day light, the next decay — and yet, always in balance.
I try to work the same way. Some days with a camera, others with a chainsaw. Still the same hands, still the same silence.
This little video from my garden is a reminder: Creation is not about control — it’s about flow.

Wood is not just a material. It is a memory of the forest.
Each line in the grain is a whisper of the tree’s journey—of wind, sun, and time. It does not strive to be straight. It flows as nature intended, without resistance.
There is a warmth in wood that cannot be manufactured. It is the warmth of life—of something that once grew from the earth, reached for the sky, and now rests in your hands.
When you shape wood with awareness, you are not forcing it—you are completing it. You are not creating—you are continuing the dance that nature began.
Let your home not just be made of wood— let it breathe, let it soften you, let it remind you that beauty needs no perfection—only presence.

The Block Plane.
A modest tool. Humble in size, profound in precision.
A tool often underestimated. Tradition meets function.Simplicity meets purpose.

A chair crafted from charred cedar, its extended backrest reaching upwards like a quiet ladder into thought.
Part sculpture, part seat – it invites you to climb for knowledge, then rest in contemplation.
A single structure serving two needs:
Reach. Sit.

Nococlyth—a neologism meaning „born from the night“—
is a sculptural exploration of transience and rebirth through light.
Fashioned from black wood, its upright form invokes the image of a coffin,
yet it does not merely symbolize an end. In its cross-like structure,
visible from above, lies a reference to the architectonic aspirations of the sacred,
not bound by doctrinal faith, but rather by the universal impulse toward meaning.
Within the uppermost quadrant,
a triangular prism of mirrors generates an endless recursion of light,
not as mere illusion, but as a phenomenological demonstration of perception itself—
an interplay of the n o m e n a l and the phenomenal, wherein the e p h e m e r a l nature of existence
is reconciled with the enduring pursuit of reason.

Proud to share this custom-made bed, designed and built by hand in my Berlin-Lichtenberg studio. This project was all about creating a safe, sustainable, and toxin-free space for a young family to rest and recharge.
This bed was created with minimalism and mindfulness at its core, designed to support the natural rhythms of rest and renewal.
Crafted from solid local oak, ensuring durability and a connection to nature
Toxin-free glues, commonly used in kindergartens, for a healthy, worry-free home
Finished with natural beeswax and carnauba wax, for a silky-smooth, eco-friendly surface
A dedicated space for your phone to rest, encouraging a period of phone-free time—for when we disconnect from the outside world, we reconnect with ourselves
Built-in lower storage in the backrest for keeping bedtime stories handy – because it’s time to swap the phone for a book.
It is more than just a piece of furniture; it’s a thoughtful design crafted with sustainability and health in mind. Every step of the process—from sourcing local materials to using non-toxic finishes—was carefully considered to ensure it’s the perfect addition to a family home.
