Hi, I’m Jane Julia but go by Julia.
Born and raised in Sweden, now based in South Africa. I don’t remember exactly when my photography obsession started, but.. growing up, my dad had a camera that he would bring everywhere. I would take his camera so I could observe people through the lense. I loved it. And I loved waiting for the film to be developed and then see all moments gathered together; re-living the story and feelings.
My first pocket-sized digital camera went EVERYWHERE with me: school trips, random hang-outs with friends, karate competitions.. and even when I got my first professional camera I would still bring disposable cameras when I went to parties.
In 2011, I was scouted to work with a photo agency called “Picbomb”, specialising in capturing the best party pictures. I was thrown into the club scene in Stockholm and thereafter started being booked for fashion week and grand openings of shops and hotels. After almost 1 year with the agency, I decided to go my own way and be my own boss.
