Hydra Cabinet - As an object the cabinet is chosen to imply a futurist play on the cabinets of curiosity of the past. Meticulously hand-sculpted from iridescent metal foam, Studio Furthermore’s Hydra Cabinet is intended to become a doorway into the mind of a collector — knowledgeable of the past while engaged in decoding and unravelling the future. The Hydra cabinet, the result of a technologically advanced process devised and handmade by Studio Furthermore, is highly sculptural and asymmetric in form. A pair of angel-winged doors open to reveal a layered universe of translucency, illuminated by shimmers of light. Presented by @charlesburnand On show @designmiami 📷 @zlexi

Inside the Artist’s Studio: Studio Furthermore @studiofurthermore As global attention returns to the Moon through the Artemis programme, Studio Furthermore’s work feels strikingly prescient — grounded in material experimentation, yet reaching beyond Earth. Based in Hove, UK, the studio engages deeply with glass, ceramic, metal and lava, developing processes that mirror those found in nature to realise new design narratives. Their ‘Moon Rock’ project — created in collaboration with the European Space Agency — will be permanently installed on the lunar surface, extending their practice into a truly extraterrestrial context. Filmed in their studio, this short offers a rare insight into the thinking, process, and material language behind the work — where craft meets future speculation. A study in process. A study in material. A study in form. 🎥 by @isabelowen_ For enquiries & acquisitions, DM or email [email protected] Artist Studio | Material Futures | Process

Studio Furthermore on Moon Rock Furniture, Recycled Aluminium and Designing the Future In this episode of Yours for the Making, I speak with Marina Dragomirova and Iain Howlett, founders of Studio Furthermore @studiofurthermore about their Moon Rock Project and the long road of material driven design. They explain how six years of experimentation led to an aluminium foam made from recycled car wheels and how that material became a cabinet unveiled in Miami that shocked audiences when opened. The conversation covers material failure, foundry collaboration, storytelling in collectible design and the limits of photography in conveying physical work. Marina and Iain also discuss gallery relationships, sustainability, futurism and their next chapter working with Japanese craftsmen on laminated plywood furniture. This episode offers a clear view of how new materials become meaningful objects through patience, research and conviction. Studio Furthermore Sinop Center Table Carved in appearance yet precisely engineered, the Sinop Center Table draws from jagged geological strata and lunar landscapes, merging raw, fractured form with clean, deliberate geometry. Cast from 100% recycled aluminium sourced from car wheels, the surface holds a quiet tension between industrial origin and sculptural refinement. Presented as part of table(d) — where the table is treated not as furniture, but as a material and spatial statement. For sales information please contact the gallery: [email protected].

The LAHAR Collection is the result of a rare alchemy between Ranieri Lava Stone , @mohdern_official and @studiofurthermore . Here, lava stone sheds its geological stillness and becomes narrative matter — hand-carved into sculptural forms and elevated by luminous, refined glazes. It’s nature, reinterpreted through the lens of experimental design. #ranierilavastone #volcaniclavastoen #laharcollection

A little BTS of Studio Furthermore’s HYDRA CABINET. This dynamic duo are pioneers of materiality and form…pushing both to the limit with extraordinary success. Best in Show — Design Miami 2025 The response to Monuments of Ether has been extraordinary. These works stand at the intersection of mastery and illusion, challenging how we experience scale, texture and presence in collectible design. Boulder Floor Lamp 01/02 (2025) by @deglanstudios is a heavy, monolithic form that channels geological mass into an object of subtle illumination. The lamp’s weight and solidity contrast with its function, turning light into a quiet revelation within a sculptural presence. Hydra Cabinet (2025) by @studiofurthermore is a sculptural cabinet that moves like a modular creature, its concealed geometry and shifting tones invoke latent potential and restrained motion. Dark Room (2017) by @peterlaneclay is a mass of clay shaped into a vessel of absence, where material weight envelops void and silence becomes spatial tension. The work collapses boundary and interior, invoking subterranean quietude and asking the viewer to confront space as negative architecture. Charles Burnand Gallery presents Make.Believe: Monuments of Ether at Design Miami 2025. On view 3–7 December, Miami Beach. For sales information please contact the gallery: [email protected] Photography @wearecontents

Studio Furthermore — Hydra Cabinet Revealed at Design Miami 2025, Studio Furthermore’s @studiofurthermore Hydra Cabinet enters the fair as a contemporary echo of the historic cabinet of curiosity. Cabinets of curiosity, typically large cupboards or rooms containing artifacts and rarities, date back to 16th-century Europe and were the precursors to museums. Aristocrats assembled esoteric collections of fossils, dried insects, artworks and other marvels, intimate constellations of taste and identity. Driven by a desire to understand the world, they constructed their own versions of reality; in turn, the cabinet became a physical doorway into the curated mind of the collector. The Hydra Cabinet carries that spirit forward. Its volcanic aluminium shell, created through the studio’s signature lost-foam casting process, feels unearthed rather than made, a mineral relic charged with both knowledge and mystery. Cratered, porous and quietly luminous, it stands as a monolith for the modern collector: enigmatic, elemental and profoundly tactile. Charles Burnand Gallery presents Make.Believe: Monuments of Ether at Design Miami 2025. On view 3–7 December, Miami Beach. (2nd December by invitation only) For sales information please contact the gallery: [email protected] 🎥
