Join us for a week of embodied, reflective making at Malvern House—a light-filled, historic space on the edge of Nottingham’s vibrant art scene. Presence & Process offers artists and creative practitioners time, space, and community to explore presence, awareness, and creative process within a supportive, dialogic environment.
Rooted in contemporary art and Gestalt practice, the residency invites you to slow down, notice, experiment, and reconnect with what moves your work. The week includes guided workshops, one-to-one mentoring, open studio time, communal meals, and visits from local artists and curators, including connections.

Found this lovely bulb blooming out back a few days ago. Grape Hyacinths (Muscari) are my favourites! I have many different varieties, which usually bloom and bring colour back to the garden in Feb/March time.
Feels (worryingly) early. Have brought it in to enjoy, but feels like spring is colliding with Christmas/NYs.

I’m recruiting an established practising artist to join a practice-based PhD at NTU starting in autumn 2025.
A fully funded practice-based PhD for an established practising artist interested in how art, psychology, and technology intersect to support wellbeing. The project invites you to create new artworks and installations that explore moments of perceptual transformation (aspect seeing), using embedded eye-tracking to provoke, capture, and analyse these experiences.
Combining artistic research with cognitive psychology, you’ll work with both gaze data and audience reflections to understand what encourages perceptual shifts. Jointly supervised across Fine Art and Psychology, the PhD offers access to state-of-the-art eye-tracking labs, digital facilities, workshops, studios, and partnerships with wellbeing organisations. Ideal for artists wanting to expand their artistic practice into interdisciplinary research to investigate how art fosters wellbeing through shifting perspectives.
