La mirada se desplaza y se desacelera, contemplando un mundo que se forma entre lo material y lo imaginario. - Entering @sarahphilouzestudio ‘ studio at @studioblockm74 uncovers her fascination for patterns found in nature, naturally reproducing, and reproduced on site, exploring the power of land and mythological influences. Siete estudios abiertos, procesos en marcha, obras en transformación y diálogo directo con los artistas. Finally some photos of my site-specific installation ‘Backbone’ @studioblockm74 Coffee yarn, string, steel, wood, foam The work focuses on the visible wiring that run throughout Mexico City and the makeshift repairs, temporary fixes, leftovers and traces of once functional systems that are testimony of fast growing and evolving cities. This omnipresent sprawl of electrical wiring often feels improvised and chaotic yet it magically functions, feeding and connecting the city. The infrastructure is more than just a technical necessity, it reflects the dynamics, growth, and adaptability of urban life. In my installation I respond to the way the cables hang, stretch, tangle and overgrow the walls and sky. I explore tension, gravity, and movement to reveal the fragile balance between connection and overload. All the wiring has been made from coffee waste collected around the neighbourhood of Guerrero. The people of Mexico City are consequently embodied within the material itself. These wires are fully made from organic compounds and will fully breakdown over time. I am excited to invite you to my solo presentation “Backbone” on July 24th, from 12–4pm @studioblockm74 . 💫💫💫 This exhibition features a site-specific installation created during my one-month long artist residency in Mexico City. The work focuses on the visible wiring systems that run throughout the city and the makeshift repairs, temporary fixes, leftovers and traces of once functional objects that are testimony of fast growing and evolving cities. This omnipresent sprawl of electrical wiring often feels improvised and chaotic yet it magically functions, feeding and connecting the city. La Artista Austriaca, Katharina Fitz llegó como una tormenta llena de ideas, energía e intención. Desde el primer día se puso manos a la obra, instalándose rápidamente y sumergiéndose con decisión en su investigación. En esta primera semana hemos tenido la oportunidad de conocerla un poco más, y queda claro que su práctica es profunda, reflexiva y comprometida. Su estancia con nosotros es breve, pero ya la está aprovechando al máximo: está completamente involucrada, con muchas ganas de conectar con sus colegas escultores, y preparando una presentación de sus hallazgos en las próximas semanas. Nos enorgullece recibir a una artista tan talentosa y estamos entusiasmados por lo que está por venir.
