Our team firmly believe that we have a responsibility to prioritise retrofit of existing building stock, rather than demolition and rebuild. When retrofitting buildings, the use of hempcrete and other bio-based materials is ideal for a range of applications, due to their hygroscopic, vapour-permeable properties. In fact, the original use of hempcrete, and still one of the most important, is in the repair and upgrading of heritage buildings.
