👋 I’m Aashka — founder, creative director, designer & someone who’s endlessly curious about how things come together. I’ve always been drawn to materials, textures, cultures and the stories they hold.
I love exploring form, scale and emotion through everything I create. Every sketch comes from something I’ve felt or seen — a texture from a trip, colors from nature or a form from a museum trip that somehow turns into a sculpture.
I started Arisaa in 2021 as a space to bring those ideas to life. Think of Arisaa's pieces as art that decided to move in with design. They're bold, honest, a little rebellious but always from the heart - JUST LIKE ME ! 💓💥

If you know me even a 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦, you know I’ve been obsessed with travel foreverrr. As a kid, I’d binge all those shows with globetrotting hosts talking food, culture, and all things wanderlust — fully convinced that was my future. If I wasn’t a designer? 3000% travel show host vibes. 🎥🍜🗺️

This piece carries the rhythm of a journey - threads hand-knotted into a rise and fall that echoes both landscape and inner tide. Above, the metallic form hovers as a horizon in flux: perhaps the burn of dusk dissolving into night, perhaps a desert crest, perhaps only the shimmer of what lies ahead. Each gaze uncovers its own terrain, each pause its own memory.

Alongside this, the handwoven textile developed slowly, guided as much by touch as by sight, with the intention of creating a surface that invites you to pause and feel.
The fringes, too, found their own direction. Originally imagined to be shorter, they became longer through the artisans’ instinct to leave extra as a precaution. That decision stayed. It felt right to let the piece carry that gesture forward, holding onto a part of the process rather than refining it away.

N O M A D ~
The process of Nomad was instinctive from the very beginning. It started with weeks of working directly with brass, cutting, rearranging, and sitting with different compositions until something quietly settled into place. There was no fixed method, just a rhythm of making, stepping back, and returning again.
It grew out of a curiosity towards how sheets of brass could be altered to become something larger, something that holds presence and draws you closer. That curiosity unfolded through multiple attempts and missteps, each one shaping the piece in ways I couldn’t have planned.

Back in our workshop, far away from those New York streets, that dream looked very different.
It looked like dust on the floor.
Sketches that didn’t work.
Material trials.
Late nights.
Hands constantly making, unmaking, refining.
Ideas becoming objects.
Objects becoming stories.
And now, to see pieces born in our workshop travel all the way to New York… feels surreal in the most grounding way.
This moment is not just about geography.
It’s about memory.
About time.
About faith.
About all the little things you keep showing up for, long before anyone sees them.
Sometimes life gives you things you never knew how to ask for — but somehow carried in your heart for years.
And when you look back, you realise…
maybe the dream was quietly making its way to you too.

A 21-year-old girl.
On the streets of New York.
A camera in hand and a head full of dreams.
That was me the first time I visited the city.
It wasn’t the first country I had travelled to, and yet something about New York stayed with me in a way very few places ever have. Maybe it was the chaos. Maybe it was the art. Maybe it was the feeling that every corner of the city was alive with ambition, movement, possibility.
Over the last 15 years, I’ve gone back again and again.
Walking endlessly.
Getting lost on purpose.
Spending hours sitting inside museums and galleries — especially The Museum of Modern Art — looking at paintings, sculptures, forms, textures, scale, emotion… absorbing it all.
And somewhere between those walks, those observations, those quiet moments of inspiration — a dream began to take shape.
Not loudly.
Not with a fixed plan.
Just somewhere deep inside:
Someday, I’d love for Arisaa to have a place here too.
