높은 건물들로 둘러싸인 대지에 작지만 단단하고 따뜻한 보금자리를 만들고자 했습니다.

Constructed Perspectives by Studio SMA (Part 3)
The beauty of SeungBum Ma’s work at Coor Seongsu lies in the tension between the solid and the fleeting. To bring this to film, we focused on the transition; the fluid space where a structure transforms from a singular mass into a complex sequence of parts.
This film is our interpretation of that motion. A study of light, geometry, and the perspectives we often take for granted.

쿠어 성수에서 마주한 마승범 작가의 작업은 견고함과 찰나 사이의 긴장감 속에 그 미학이 존재합니다.
이를 영상으로 구현하기 위해 우리는 ‘전이(transition)’의 과정, 즉 하나의 온전한 덩어리가 복합적인 파편의 시퀀스로 변모하는 유동적인 공간에 주목했습니다.
이 필름은 그 움직임에 대한 Jagi Films만의 해석이자 빛과 기하학, 그리고 우리가 평소 당연하게 여겨온 관점들에 대한 탐구입니다.

옥탑은 투명한 곡면의 매스로 설계해 자연광이 내부로 가득 스며들고 하늘을 바라볼 수 있도록 했다. 건물이 단단하고 불투명한 네모난 형상으로 도시를 향한 표정을 짓고 있다면, 보행 레벨에서는 쉽게 인식되지 않는 이 옥탑은 내부의 부드럽고 따뜻한 분위기를 잠망경처럼 은근히 드러낸다. 옥상은 작은 놀이터가 되어 가족의 다양한 취미를 담아낼 예정이다.

The rooftop volume is designed as a transparent curved mass, allowing natural light to permeate the interior and offering views of the sky. While the building presents a solid, opaque, rectilinear face toward the city, the rooftop—barely perceptible from the pedestrian level—subtly reveals the interior’s soft and warm atmosphere, like a periscope. The roof is envisioned as a small playground, accommodating the family’s diverse hobbies.

옥탑의 계단은 자연광이 최대한 내부로 스며들 수 있도록 계획했다. 날씨와 계절에 따라 햇빛이 서로 다른 모습으로 드리워지며, 고양이들이 가장 즐겨 찾는 장소이기도 하다.

The rooftop stair was designed to allow natural light to penetrate deep into the interior. The sunlight shifts in character with changes in weather and season, and the space has also become the cats’ favorite spot in the house.
