SOS — State of Studios 2 is online!
For this issue, I reflect on something most of us experience : sharing personal work online, and how what begins as a space for freedom can quickly turn into a spiral of doubt.
Through a conversation with audiovisual artist Sébastien Mercier (@neurotypique ) we discuss how to stay true to yourself in the strange world of being seen online.

Pour marcher dans la rue, simplement. Avec des fleurs à la main. Et faire retourner les passants.
Parce que c’est beau. Et que ça sent bon.
Parce que CORNELIUS.

SOS is where I write the things that sit behind my practice,
the thoughts I can’t ignore, the doubts that help me grow,
the moments that move me even if no one sees them.
It’s also the talks I have with people who make me think differently,
and the instinctive moments that quietly shape the work.
•
For this first issue, I’m reflecting on how meaning and feeling both drive design.
We care a lot about strong concepts at the studio, but emotion and instinct bring another layer, less rational but just as meaningful.
I shared these thoughts with @rossgendels (creative director at Base Design) in a conversation that felt really natural. Nothing formal, just two designers talking about what shapes the work beyond the obvious.
Everything is now live on indice.studio — hope you enjoy 💜

LIGHTS, CAMERA, BRANDS, ACTION : Indice Insights #6 is out! 🎬
For this new issue, we dive into the increasingly intertwined worlds of fashion and cinema : two industries that have always shared a flair for storytelling, spectacle, and style.
From Lacoste’s unexpected appearance in Chien 51 to luxury houses funding film restorations and producing their own features, brands are more and more stepping into the director’s chair.
Why are they so drawn to the big screen? And what does this cinematic turn reveal about the future of brand culture?
As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or favorite examples 💫
@hors_sol , a Paris-based collective and event organiser, now in full bloom. 🌸
Born from balance and care, Hors-Sol nurtures a scene in constant transformation; one that remains subtle, vibrant and sincere.
We designed an identity that follows this rhythm, both structured and organic, precise yet alive.
A visual language that blossoms with the same sense of grace.
An echo of what makes Hors-Sol unique and precious.

A little flashback :
Infinite Looping in Harmony🌀(2023)
An exhibition imagined as an endless cassette, where twelve artists intertwined with the generative music of Richard Sears. Images and sounds flowed together in a continuous, unpredictable loop.
Since 2022, we’ve been working alongside @hatch_paris ,
from their first exhibitions and art fairs, to a new visual identity soon to come. A collaboration that comes full circle, and keeps opening new ones.
Proud to support Hatch and grateful for their trust.
New identity soon to be revealed 🌈
Past Forward, Indice Insights 4 is out! ✨
Why are brands suddenly obsessed with their pasts, even the ones they never really had?
From vintage logos to reissued collections, from brand historians gaining influence to the rise of faux-heritage identities and nostalgic campaigns, this issue explores how the past is being creatively re-enacted to speak to new generations.

For @hors_sol
The bloom of a new identity.
Vibrant, organic, subtle.
A path of balance,
between celebration and care,
experimentation and precision,
immersion and elevation.
Not a shout, but a presence.
A scene that grows with grace.
