🍂 Autumn is in here, are you getting cozy? While we enjoy our show-packed October, here comes a preview of our poster for November, designed by Julia Boehme @studio_goof Julia Boehme lives as an artist and illustrator in Leipzig (Germany) and likes to draw friendly characters that she places in all sorts of adventures while using different analogue techniques and mediums for her pictures, stories, gig posters or objects. They often turn out personal and poetic, often based on experiences, travels or playful reminiscences or homages to historic works and musical pieces that inspire her – processed in a comic way. She has mostly self-published her books or prints in small handprinted risography or silkscreen-print editions and takes part in exhibitions. When she doesn’t draw, she works as a graphic designer and printmaking teacher for kids and is also part of experimental-pop project ‚Mellie‘. Invitation to our next exhibition: OPENING: Friday, October 18th, at 19h In TO BLUSH BOND AND CRUMBLY CONCEAL, we invite friends/allies/companions to share the (un)secret: to endure the blushing, the lowering of eyes, the sweating of hands and the desire to flee in the suddenness of being seen and to celebrate failure and process instead. We tend and befriend and favour the porous over the solid. Our weak points become our points of contact. Is this the utopian mud body? For the project TO BLUSH BOND AND CRUMBLY CONCEAL we collected sketches, drawings, scribbles or doodles - visual or text-based - that we are ashamed of or that express our individual shame. The material is eather from our teenage years, the present or anything in between, whatever the reason for the shame. The different voices form a collective “body”/a polyphonic illumination of the theme of shame.
