During my trip to India in March, I met Lola over a drink in Goa. She told me about her studio Gamut, and showed me her handloom necklaces. I was immediately drawn to the delicacy of the weaving and the richness of the colours.
Gamut works with women weavers in central India, creating finely crafted pieces from glass beads, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary eye.
Very quickly, we started imagining something together — a simple, everyday object with a strong presence.
That’s how these napkin rings came to life, designed for the Stripe Club collection @studio_gamut #stripeclub // customized napkins on demand by @lara_buffard_ // some necklaces available too #localshopping
It is a great honour to be selling our Chillida necklaces in the store of Chilida Leku. We hope Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) would have approved of our collection, inspired by his simple forms and respect for the truth of the materials he worked with. At Gamut we are amazed to observe how these necklaces grow line after line: soon they will be finished in the hands of Indian women weavers and will leave the loom to start a journey that will take them from the shores of Goa to the shores of the Basque Country. It is quite a crossing and we are delighted to be the facilitators.
We are proud to announce that our Chillida collection is now available at Chillida Leku’s Store.
Chillida Leku is an unusual museum near San Sebastián, hosting the most comprehensive selection of works by Eduardo Chillida.
Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) bought the stunning sixteen century country house in 1980 and spent fifteen years restoring it. His sculptures are displayed both inside the building and outside, integrated into the landscape as though they had always been part of it. In the garden, beech, oak and magnolia trees live alongside the monumental steel and granite sculptures. The estate, itself a work of art, is managed by the Eduardo Chillida´s successors and Hauser & Wirth

We are in Delhi to present our latest collection with Soho House, inspired by the theme of this year’s edition of the Kochi Biennale: "For the Time Being".
The setting of the launch of this collection could not be more propitious: the iconic Gujral House, completed in 1970 by Satish Gujral and Raj Rewal. For over five and a half decades, this architectural masterpiece has served as a venue for intellectual and artistic exchange.
What better place to launch a necklace that celebrates this moment in time than a home with such a legacy?

¨But when from a long distant past nothing subsists, after the people are dead, after the things are broken and scattered, still, alone, more fragile, but with more vitality, more unsubstantial, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls, ready to remind us, waiting and hoping for their moment, amid the ruins of all the rest¨ Marcel Proust

Sitara wears pieces from our Raccolta collection. We called it raccolta -harvest in Italian- because its blue and copper beads remind us of rice harvesting in Goa. The reaping of the then golden rice usually starts in October, when the skies are turning blue again after a relentless monsoon. Our weavers do their best to transfer that landscape into our necklaces. The blue and copper landscape travels from the land into our workshops and last into the hands of Gamut collectors.
Srinivas wears our belt/necklace piece wrapped around the neck. These pieces are inspired by 1920s beaded jewellery, giving it a distinct vintage feel. DM for details and to discuss colours.
Is it a belt? Is it a necklace? Could it be both? We are delighted to showcase this versatile piece that could swing around your hips or dangle around your neck. In these images, Asmita wears the black model. These pieces are, for the time being, only made on order. DM for details and to discuss colours.
