✳️ CALENTURA ✳️ by @zephirzephirzephir New book available in bookstores and online 🌀 Calentura is an imaginary country where poetic laws replace physics. The narrator journeys through its regions, recording in fragments its phenomena, encounters, and customs: a mythological travelogue that is as much a contemporary parable as a work of imagined ethnography. Across these pages, Zéphir composes a metaphorical geography of our inner and social lives: cities bending under the weight of opinions, emotions rushing down slopes, words in search of a voice… While the book borrows certain codes from science fiction, it belongs more to a solarpunk / climate-fiction sensibility, one oriented toward the living world and set against the grain of dystopia. Visually, the pages are drawn in pencil on tracing paper, then enhanced and colorized, before undergoing a photogravure process conceived for printing in four spot colors, a chromatic choice that supports both the book’s subject matter and Fidèle’s editorial line. RAINBOW LANDS IN CHINA 🌈 Phillus × Studio Fidèle | China Premiere of Rainbow Phillus is proud to present the Chinese premiere of Rainbow, the wordless book by Spanish artist María Medem, at the Shanghai International Illustration Festival. Rainbow brings together seven short visual narratives, each exploring a color of the spectrum. Balancing visual poetry and silent comics, the book reflects María Medem’s unique language—fluid, intuitive, and deeply immersive. Her work moves across illustration, comics, and graphic storytelling, creating open reading experiences where images unfold their own rhythm, space, and time. Curated in collaboration with Shanghai Illustration Town, this exhibition reinterprets the book into a spatial experience. Alongside artworks, visitors can read Rainbow on site and watch a short film introducing the project. The exhibition has received outstanding feedback, marking a powerful step in introducing French-language original books to the Chinese audience through exhibition formats.
