From HUMMINGBIRD to SERAGLIO: A Path of Resilience and Humanity
A few years ago, my heart stopped. I was declared dead before the pulse came back—weak, faint, but there. That fragile heartbeat became the starting point of a long journey: relearning how to live, move, think, and create. Out of that ordeal came HUMMINGBIRD, an intimate album inspired by the Native American legend of the hummingbird who tries, drop by drop, to extinguish the fire consuming its forest.
Like the bird, I wanted to do my part: to rebuild through music, to transform pain into strength, silence into melody. The project was a testimony of resilience, but also an opening to the world. My perspective, shaped by having touched the edge, turned toward the struggles of others—for peace, for nature, for human rights.
In 2025, one truth became clear: I needed to lend my voice to those who are rarely heard—women. Those who give life, whose words are so often silenced, ignored, or diminished. That’s how the album SERAGLIO was born.
The word “seraglio” refers to the secluded quarters of the Ottoman Empire where women—sometimes with their children—lived in confinement.
SERAGLIO is not a feminist manifesto, but a deeply human work. A call to listen differently.
You’ll hear women whispering, calling out, connecting. Hypnotic, repetitive rhythms echo the persistence and constancy of that call. Eastern tones evoke spaces of imposed silence, captive beauty, and restrained strength.
With SERAGLIO, I want to open a door—a door into an inner world often kept at a distance: the world of women, their perspectives, their experience. Music that lets their voices resonate a little louder.
