In Palermo, @studio_didea makes a case for designing the future, trading sun-bleached antiquity for stainless steel and red neon in a diner that feels sleek, metallic and futuristic.
Conceived not as a room but as a system, contemporary, essential and replicable, the space draws on the bones of a classic 1950s American diner, refracted through a contemporary lens, where midcentury lineage meets the graphic confidence of 1970s office interiors without slipping into nostalgia.
Stainless steel anchors everything, shaped into continuous surfaces, linear counters and curved details that reflect light, organise movement and support the rhythm of service, while red provides a sharp counterpoint against the silver.
The relationship between the dining room and kitchen is carefully considered, reinforcing a space where function and form move together.

Prior Ecclesia: nuove trame di luce trasformano un’antica chiesa sconsacrata
⛪ ☀️ 🏢 In pieno centro ad Alcamo (Trapani), fra storia e presente, seguendo i principi di un minimalismo mediterraneo che non impone ma valorizza e accoglie, gli architetti dello studio siciliano didea hanno trasformato, con un intervento audace, una chiesa sconsacrata del 1500 in un ufficio contemporaneo illuminato in larga parte da una magnifica luce naturale.
Il principale intervento nel progetto Prior Ecclesia è stato “liberare” lo spazio dal buio, rimuovendo uno dei soffitti per sfruttare l’altezza a doppio volume e integrare l’edificio con un vasto lucernario.
La luce naturale, fluendo dall’alto, permea l’intero spazio, accarezza ogni angolo, sfiora la pietra tufacea delle antiche mura che, riportata a vista, vibra come un consistente fondale materico.
