Ceramics by @adamrossceramics Adam Ross is a Northumberland-based ceramic artist and designer whose work bridges functional tableware and sculptural ceramics. A graduate of Glasgow School of Art in Ceramic Design (2009), he is known for using traditional wheel-thrown techniques as a foundation for expressive sculptural experimentation. His practice focuses on altering and manipulating ceramic forms through faceting, cutting, and distortion, leaving visible traces of the making process. This creates work with a strong sense of movement, spontaneity, and individuality. Alongside his sculptural pieces, he produces refined tableware collections that balance utility with distinctive character and craftsmanship. Pictured, a tall faceted lamp base with a tapered silhouette, thrown from black stoneware with a carved and sliced surface creating rhythmic faceted texture. The form embraces irregularity, celebrating a wabi-sabi aesthetic inspired by Japanese and British studio ceramics. Finished in a dry rutile glaze. Newly wired with black fabric flex and a UK plug. PAT tested. - Date / Era: Contemporary Material: Stoneware Dimensions: W 18 x D 18 x H 46 cm (excluding shade) Signed: Impressed with maker’s mark Condition: Excellent Lampshade: Extra Tall Cone in handwoven raffia with a cotton trim, handmade by @annavojtisek Available online at biblo.co.uk or DM for further details. Victor Sanders, Untitled (Orange Abstract) A large abstract mixed media work on canvas by Victor Sanders. The energetic composition features gestural swirling forms in vibrant orange and yellow contrasted with dark sketch-like markings and atmospheric greys. Presented in a custom-made deep sapele tray frame finished with Georgian mahogany wax. Signed lower right. Victor Sanders is a contemporary artist and graduate of the renowned Central Saint Martins. Describing himself as a self-proclaimed “contemporary expressionist,” his work explores autobiographical themes of life and memory through expressive use of colour and texture. Working primarily with traditional oil on canvas, later incorporating acrylics, Victor balances control of the image with the natural evolution of paint and colour. Through layering and sanding back surfaces, he reveals traces of the past within each piece. His work has been exhibited privately and included in exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts. Following a twenty-year career break, Victor has returned to painting and is now beginning to sell his portfolio again. - Date / Era: 2024 Medium: Mixed media on canvas Dimensions: W 103 x D 5.7 x H 103 cm (framed dimensions) Signed: Front Framing: Custom-made deep sapele tray frame finished with Georgian mahogany wax. Professionally framed by Heron Framing, Falmouth. Available online at biblo.co.uk or DM for further details. Ceramics by @byjoshuawilliams Joshua Williams is a studio potter working in Galloway, Scotland, specialising in functional kitchenware rooted in traditional pottery techniques. His practice is guided by the belief that studio pottery can elevate everyday rituals through thoughtfully crafted domestic objects. These studio pottery slipware candlesticks are thrown from terracotta, incorporating inclusions such as dust and grog collected from local beaches. Their teardrop form is both utilitarian and sculptural, featuring a small handle reminiscent of a traditional chamberstick. Each piece is decorated with gestural brushwork and splashed slip. Williams produces high-fired functional earthenware characterised by strong, vital forms and restrained yet expressive decoration. His palette centres on dark green, honey-gold, and cream glazes, with textured surfaces that create organic variations in tone and finish across each piece. A key aspect of his work is the incorporation of locally sourced materials and instinctive decorative methods, allowing unpredictability and spontaneity to become part of the making process. This approach ensures that every pot carries its own distinct character while remaining practical for everyday use. - Discover Joshua’s work online at biblo.co.uk or send a DM for further details. Explore our latest arrivals of art, ceramics, lighting and more – now online. Shot at the magical @farawayhousesennen in Sennen, we’d like to say a huge thank you to @pollybathsheba for so generously letting us use her wonderful home as the backdrop for this collection. We’re thrilled to showcase works from a range of talented makers and artists in this latest drop, including works by @adamrossceramics , @byjoshuawilliams , @sachadelabre and Ali of @ark_antiques . Bringing together sourced vintage pieces alongside a carefully curated selection of contemporary art and craft, these collaborations continue to feel like a natural extension of Biblo and what we love most. Founded on an enduring appreciation for beautiful objects, craft and design have always been at the heart of what we do. We’re passionate about championing traditional techniques and hands-on making – something that can feel increasingly rare in a world increasingly shaped by technology and AI. The objects we choose to live with bring beauty, warmth and character into our homes. We truly believe that surrounding ourselves with meaningful craft not only supports independent artisans, but positively shapes the way we live and feel. There’s something deeply important about staying connected to beauty and thoughtful design – the quiet way it softens a space and enriches everyday life. We’re also excited to continue expanding the collection and aim to showcase the work of even more makers and artists in our next drop. And finally, a huge shout out to the incredible @stephosmond_photo , who remains very much behind the scenes but is such an essential part of Biblo. None of this would be possible without her talent and eye, so beautifully bringing our finds to life through her photography. With thanks also to Nic Heron of @heron.framing for his meticulous framing skills and for elevating the art pieces within this collection, and to @annavojtisek , who always delivers with the beautiful lampshades she creates to accompany the many lamp bases in our collection.
