The difference between reference and intuition is miles traveled.
We travel to observe — how a space draws you in, a shift in scale, where architecture asks you to pause, what lingers in your mind after you leave.
Over time, those moments stop reading as reference or a pretty photo op, and start becoming engrained design instincts.
The power of a unified design community: Idaho is now the 30th state in the US to pass legislation surrounding the practice of interior design. Once this law goes into effect, certified interior designers can voluntarily register with state and obtain sign and seal privileges for a limited set of documents. Not only will this create more job opportunities within the state, but provides a pathway for our profession to practice to the fullest extent of our education and training.
This milestone is a testament to the Design community coming together to affect positive change.
We are excited to help shape the future of one of the fastest growing states in the US!
“There is an increasing need for slow, tactile, connected experiences.
This listening bar draws from a time when things were designed and engineered not only for performance, but for beauty and feel.
A room shaped for quiet conversation, crafted ritual, and the pleasure of listening.” -
Lyndsey Archer
Designers tend to notice the details most people walk past.
Our camera rolls tell that story. An evolving collection of details that capture how spaces come together.
Not the headline moments, but the in-between — the edges, transitions, and material expressions that do the real work. Design isn’t a single gesture — it’s a hundred decisions executed with intent.
...We call them fundamentals.
The world’s a-buzz about these “trends” in design...
Experiential Design.
Multi-sensory environments.
Storytelling.
The truth is, none of these are trends.
For our studio, they have always been the starting point. They are not overlays to a design process. They are the design process.
—Experiential Design & the Guest Journey—
We begin with the human experience of a place long before we consider its form. How someone arrives, what draws them forward, where they pause, gather, reflect, and what stays with them afterward. Mapping that emotional arc alongside the physical journey informs planning, scale, and rhythm so environments unfold as choreographed sequences rather than static compositions.
—Multi-sensory Environments—
Materiality is never just visual. It is tactile, acoustic, and atmospheric. Applied finishes help tell the story, but the choreography of light, sound, and scent brings it to life. When considered from the outset, these elements dissolve the boundary between audience and environment, breaking the fourth wall of traditional spatial design.
—Storytelling—
Story is often mistaken for theme. For us, narrative begins with research and observation. It emerges from people, place, history, art and becomes the lens through which we shape form, material, light, and atmosphere. It is the identity.
When narrative is informed by context rather than invented decoration, environments gain authenticity and emotional resonance. They feel grounded in something real.
Meet Maddie — Associate Designer at Studio Archer
Maddie is an intuitive designer with a strong artistic sensibility and a talent for bringing ideas to life through narrative rigor and thoughtful detail.
At Studio Archer, Maddie contributes across all phases of design, from early concept exploration through visualization and project delivery. She brings a calm, considered approach to the studio, with a particular interest in how light, texture, and atmosphere shape experience, considering not only what people see, but what they feel in a space.
Outside the studio, Maddie draws inspiration from her travels and photography, bringing a keen sense of composition and storytelling to the way she sees and designs spaces.
Before the medals are awarded, the mood is set.
Milan opens the 2026 Winter Games in “Armonia” — a celebration of harmony, artistry, and spectacle, brought to life by the brilliant team at @balichwonderstudio .
Inspired by that harmony, our material story takes shape. A study in gold, silver, and bronze—set against an alpine backdrop—captures the tension between rigor and release, the moment when the work is done and the reward is felt.
Wishing every Olympian a safe and extraordinary Winter Games, and manifesting gold for Team USA.
More than a showroom.
Crafted as a place to gather, host, and belong, this mixed-use concept is taking shape through hospitality-forward design and playful branded moments — bringing life and levity to a space meant to feel lived in, welcoming, and innately human.
In progress.
