and expose just how delicate you really are,
drippity drip,
your blood will flow,
but do not curse the pain,
it does not wish to hurt you,
it's simply wants to forge you,
purify you,
so kiss your scar,
embrace the wound,
let the blood flow,
because baby, don'tcha know
without pain,
you'll never grow.

Many of these trees are still alive. Wildfires have always naturally occurred in nature following lightning strikes. Trees in fire prone areas have developed a thick bark to help protect their inner living tissue. The thick bark acts as an armor against the fire. When examining many of these trees, beneath their charred exterior, a bright healthy colored tree can be found.
Their roots will wait patiently for rain, soon after thier leaves have sprouted, they will once again begin to soak up our bad breath and provide oxygen in return.

This was a practice shot in my front yard before we went up to the mountains for the shoot. I normally don't shoot with natural light, but at that moment the clouds were passing in front of the sun diffusing it's harsh light, the lighting was perfect, and so was she.

As the goddess of rebirth and destruction, she is said to maintain the balance between creation and destruction, and to set the cycle of life and death in motion by resurrecting herself each year.
