We are pleased to announce that Rowan has been awarded the 2025 Martin Jones Scholarship.
This generous award will provide the dedicated time and intellectual space to draw together threads of STUDIO NIRO’s past and present enquiry that inform practice and teaching. While the questions raised are personally important, we believe they also touch on issues that are critical for architectural culture more broadly.
The study, POTENTIAL ORDERS will critically appraise the role of order in architecture, as a fundamental principle of the discipline.
By revisiting past models and engaging with current practice, the study aims to reassert order, not as a restrictive notion, but as a generative framework for an architectural language of today – one able to adapt to local dialects while remaining conscious of its place, its time and its lineage.
The scholarship is administered by
@riasmembership and awarded to an outstanding student or graduate of Dundee to pursue a personal line of creative investigation and research.
