Thank you @aianovawia for the profile! // Lindsey is the founder and principal of Studio Mayd in Washington, DC and is also the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs; Director of the Kibel Gallery; and an Associate Clinical Professor with the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.
Studio Mayd designed the custom pattern used for the furniture and rug in this film+furniture exhibition ‘You Don’t Love Me Yet’ hosted by the Swedish Embassy. And the opening was a banger!
The undulating grid pattern was inspired by the themes of motion, change, nesting, and mirroring in the short films ‘Delay’ and ‘I Am the Dog That Always Was Here.’ Drawing on the long tradition of Swedish textile art, the colors for each version of the pattern reference four important works by the Swedish textile artist Helena Hernmarck: Beta (1965); Epsilon (1964); Newspapers (1968); Blue Wash 1 (1984).
Sneak peak! See you Friday! Installation text below:

Studio Mayd designed a custom fabric pattern in 4 variations for a furniture installation. We are so excited to share the final images soon! Exhibition opening this Friday for the first 👀 Event starts at 60’ at the @dupontunderground
THIS FRIDAY: EXHIBITION OPENING! I designed custom patterns and printed them on fabric for furniture and into a very long rug. Come see how it all comes together!
From the event text:
Dupont Underground, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden, presents the video art exhibition “You Don’t Love Me, Yet” with eight prominent Swedish artists from varying backgrounds and different generations. Art reflects its times, and the artists in this exhibition depict societal change, interpersonal relationships, and the interaction between humans and nature.
The video works are displayed in “living rooms,” all designed by Washington-based architecture firms, which create a sharp contrast to the unique and rough character of the abandoned streetcar station under Dupont Circle.
The exhibition opens at 6 pm, with a welcome address by Ambassador of Sweden to the United States H.E. Karin Olofsdotter at 7 pm, followed by an artist talk with Mats Bigert in dialogue with curator Johan Pousette.
Each layer of our @DupontUnderground competition proposal builds upon the existing context and overlays new spatial and⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
programmatic opportunities. Trees, paths, zones, green space, views all contribute to the reimagined public space.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
