Lidded pot with spoon rest! Why does this pot have a spoon rest you ask? Well it's definitely not because I dropped and broke the lid right when it was finished so decided to cut around the crack and make it look deliberate.... Of course not, it was always the plan....

Swirly bowls - I actually threw 6 bowls but the other 3 didn't make the cut! The first to go into the reclaim I just didn't like the shape of and reminded myself I don't need to finish every piece I throw! the second flopped! I did that 'one last pull' when I should have quit while I was ahead! And the 3rd I didn't keep was HUGE and wouldn't have fit in the kiln, but it was fun to throw - so not a waste! So I'll be trimming just these 3 tomorrow and doing some carvings :)
I love the shape of this cup, it's definitely not my usual shape though! When I was home visiting my Nan and Då this summer they have these two beautiful cups with a similar shape (just smaller handles) and I fell in love with the feel of those. I wish I have take a photo of the cups and if I knew the makers names I would share them because they were both with lovely glazes and design along with the shape.
I think I need to get out of my usual a little more and try out some new shapes. I'm not going to be giving up my speckled clay anytime soon and I doubt I will stop carving either, so playing with shape it what I've got for now!
