The past few years have brought big changes — 2 kids, full-time work, and pivots that sometimes pulled me away from my personal design practice; but the Guapo Rocker keeps finding its way into the world, reminding me that iconic design takes time. The Guapo Rocker has taught me that a good chair lives on its own terms — it travels, it connects, and it continues to grow beyond my will.
I believed in this chair from the start, and it continues to give me life. I’m excited to open the door to new collaborations, commissions, and the next chapter of my design work.

Last night the Pratt IDSA assembled their own Guapo Rocking chair ahead of @studio.guapo ‘s presentation in the design gallery. Over the past few weeks, IDSA club members have all contributed in the fabrication process from prepping files for cnc, to staining/painting and final assembly! Deeply missing and remembering my good friend Zach today. Zach was so passionate about design in the most human and humble way. Zach put me on to Japanese design and was the mastermind who visioned my colab with @hidasangyo.official a couple years ago. Zach and I had so much fun working together, the high we both had after this project was palpable! We wanted to do this forever. His spirit is in my heart, he made such an impact on who I am and who I want to be. - My favorite part of our friendship was all the gardening advise and garden sharing we did in the spring and summer. he was my virtual garden pen pal! I will miss him forever. Looking forward to another chess game one day in the sky! 🪑🕊️
