A place to sit, work and to look. Wardrobe dissolves into a desk with a large north facing window, with views to the bay run in our Likyfield Project. A planter box in the window allows for flexible privacy, simply by managing how tall / thick the plants are allowed to grow.

Alterations and Additions, Erskineville. This project involves thoughtful alterations and additions to a terrace row house in Erskineville’s heritage conservation area. The design respects the historical context by adding new spaces underneath the existing roofline, ensuring they are not visible from the street. The ground floor is reconfigured to create a seamless flow between the kitchen, living, and dining areas, connecting them to the rear outdoor entertaining space. Services are centralized, and the staircase placement is optimized for better efficiency. The first-floor addition includes a master suite, study, and fourth bedroom, all tucked under the existing roofline to maintain the house’s original character. #architecture #interiordesign #sydneyarchitecture

Nestled in the picturesque coastal town of Thirroul, this transformative alterations and additions project breathes new life into a cherished family home, seamlessly blending functionality with a deep connection to the natural surroundings. At the heart of this revitalization is the introduction of a contemporary pavilion at the rear, designed to serve as the nucleus of family life. This new space is thoughtfully articulated to house an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, all harmoniously oriented to capture the serene views of the escarpment and to foster an intimate connection with the garden. Embracing a design philosophy that prioritizes functional spaces interwoven with the landscape, the pavilion connects to the existing dwelling via a breezeway, separating the two volumes with pocket gardens, increasing natural light and ventilation to both the existing and proposed. The project incorporates passive design principles to harness solar gain and promote natural cross-ventilation, ensuring a comfortable living environment throughout the year. The functional kitchen with culinary gallery extends through the facade into an outdoor BBQ area, reflecting the clients’ passion for cooking and entertaining, and blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living. Sustainability is woven into the fabric of the project, with a judicious selection of sustainable and recycled materials that underscore a commitment to environmental stewardship. The existing dwelling undergoes a thoughtful reconfiguration to align with the family’s evolving needs, introducing a secluded master suite, an inspiring art studio bathed in natural light, and a dedicated music room, each space designed to nurture the family’s creative and personal growth.
