Always 🔥
Find me this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at @mothoddities during Art-A-Whirl 🌪️
It’s my first time vending in over a year! It feels good to be back making pottery and other whimsical things, also excited to see you all :)
I haven’t posted in a while. There’s much I want to say but I’ve learned I don’t have to say it all now.
This system that dehumanizes immigrants has always been here. I have experienced it all my life. It has always been Abolish ICE and ACAB. What we are seeing now is an escalation of the police state we’ve always had. George Floyd, Renee Good, Alex Pretti, they are connected by the system that brutally murdered them.
Now more than ever I fear for myself and my family. Every time I say goodbye to family members I fear it will be my last time before they are ripped away from their home and loved ones. I fear walking to the grocery store. The bus stop is now an easy target. I always make sure to share my location, carry my green card and whistle before leaving my house.
The streets are not safe.
I am vigilant and weary being outside. I also feel much love and heartbreak seeing protest signs, and people with whistles protecting their neighbors. I am strengthened by all the community work being done by kind and ordinary people. Only we can bring change.
I always thought the vibrancy of Lake Street came from the murals. I was wrong. The vibrancy of Lake Street comes from the people. Someday that vibrancy will come back.
Please visit immigrant owned businesses, reach out and offer support to your vulnerable friends, donate to mutual aid and organizations. Please also allow yourself to feel joy in the ways that are possible. This will be a long fight. Thank you for your love for this city and our people. Much love and care to you 💕
Dare I say, we are so back???
Getting back into creating after a long and well deserved pause. Here’s to my first time throwing in 6 months (!!)! Throwing really is like riding a bike.
Find me and my wares at Art-A-Whirl, May 16-18th. Details to come ✨
AND happy trans day of visibility to all my beautiful trans people 💕
Love, your local queer nonbinary potter 🌈

✨ Story Sale ✨
But first, a little life update: I’m transitioning into a new phase of my life, which also means I’m moving (in December lol). Before moving I’ll be in Mexico for a 5 week ceramic residency !!!! I’ll be in Puebla (the state I am from) learning the pottery tradition of Talavera. It’s been a dream of mine since I started ceramics to learn Talavera and I am very very excited and grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to share my experience with y’all 💕
Because I’ll be leaving in 2 weeks, I won’t be vending at an event until Dec. 8th. I’ll try to vend at 3 events in Dec., and will post when I get everything confirmed :)
Now on to the story sale: I’ll have some of my work like pottery, worms, and Halloween earrings. I’ll also have some furniture and trinkets that need new homes. I’ll upload everything on my story this Sunday. Thank you for reading 💕
Find me (and many worms) this weekend at:
Sat. 10/14: Francis Fest 🍔 at @indeedbrewing from 1-6pm. There will be plenty of yummy vegan food and vendors of many things ✨
Sun. 10/15: Back to School Market 🎒 at @boneshakerbooks from 11am-4pm. Get some cute stationary and art, even if you’re not going back to school ☺️. Masks required 😷
