Some texturing experiments from a few weeks back, using 90% Dreadlabs assets. It's been crazy fun to just lock in, put on music and start playing with masking, blending and Photoshop filters to see what abstract weirdness will unfold on your screen. Here's how I used my asset packs per art:
.
1. Erosion
The Rock patterns are compositioned on the right hand side of the poster. Both sides of the poster are a combination of textures from my Filth asset pack. Blending a certain set of these textures using experimental blend modes resulted in very unorganic, alien-like color palettes you see on the left. (Font "kaerukaeru by @isab3lm0tz )
.
2. Asphalt
While playing around I accidentaly created this heavenly glowy texture from a rust texture. This made me think of X-Ray photo's so I added the Ink hand from the Ink Textures pack. To add to the vibe I added in a Gas Mask graphic and distressed it using FILTH grunge brushes.
.
3. Toxins
Here I simply god some whacky psychedelic textures after layering a bunch of marble paint textures and filth textures together. To add in some kind of depth I pasted in a couple of Tribal Scribbles and gave them a bit of processing while keeping the texture in there.
.
4. Slashed Marble
This one game from an experiment which I'm still conducting. I'm working on a Photoshop action that will add randomized tendrils to the edges of your graphics, essentially making you able to turn every normal font into some kind of Death Metal graphic. I experimented with this technique on some Tribal Scribbles. To give the whole thing some more color and texture I layered that with a Marble Paint texture.
.
Something I realised during this creative process is that I sometimes just need to go back into some older assets that I already have and see the potential in them instead of trying to exclusively work with my shiny new ones. So even if you don't want to grab any of these assets after seeing these posters, consider checking what textures and assets you already have on your computer that you haven't used in a while and see what you can create with them!
I've been so busy with client work an converting my van into a camper that I haven't had a lot of time to do stuff for myself or Dreadlabs. But this week I've been working on an AE template / tool that let's you customize all kinds of cool stuff using Dithering. I want to share this file as beta for a discount on my website soon, but also share a free tutorial if you want to re-create this yourself. Anyways, swipe for some experiments and let me know if you have a cool name for this template!
Some recent client work for some of my favorite local spots @013poppodium / nulnuldertien and @etalage.rec showcase at @degintilburg , wrapped into this amazing showcase slides designed by @eve.kslv .
๐ For commission work, send me an email or check out my portfolio website!
Showvisuals I designed for @rickywest.jpg during his set at @rampage.international . It was a ton of fun to turn my friend into a low-poly ps1 character, as well as learning about dithered 3D textures, UV mapping and all sorts of things that I didn't know about yet. Swipe to see some of the visuals in action!

How I designed the Freedom Pikachu Gundam card a few weeks back. I know I have been lacking on the design challenges myself lately, and the main reason is that I just don't have enough time at the moment. Hopefully I'll be back on it soon. If you want to join yourself, you can do so through the link in my bio!
Just a lil graphic to let you know that I am open for any creative projects! I'd love to hear what you would have me work on, no matter the price. I always like to try to work something out, so don't be afraid to send me a DM or email at [email protected] :)
The Gundam x Pokemon "Freedom Pikachu" card I designed as part of the second Dreadlabs Design Briefing. I'm actually really happy with how this one turned out, and I think I plan on printing this card in the future as I want to get more into card printing. But who knows.
Joji - In Tongues Limited Edition LP Release. Including 2 t-shirts, cherry blossom silver chain and of course the In Tongues LP, including the remixes on a separate vinyl. All of the merchandise comes in a custom made oni mask case, inspired by the maskk worn by Joji in the alternative cover art of the EP. I came up with this concept and design as part of the Dreadlabs design challenge where I want to challenge myself (and you) to work on 2 design briefings every month. The main takeaway for myself is to get myself to do more self-contained work and spark my creativity. I hope this challenge will do the same for you! If you're interested join my discord server to join in on the fun and who knows; you might even win some store credit with each challenge.
Logo design I did for @burnrmusic a while back. User interface animations designed by @potz.dsgn which I absolutely love. If you've been keeping an eye on my page you can see that I now work with two amazing interns who help me design these case studies. I had the animation from the last slide laying around so I figured I'd might as well drop it in there too, but don't let it distract you from the amazing first two slides!
I've been working for Curbi's label Seeing is Believing for a few years now, and by the end of last year I did a complete rebrand of the label; The rebranding so far has been applied to a compilation album, as well as their event in @melkwegamsterdam for which I did the promotional assets and the show visuals. Swipe to get a taste of rebranding in this casestudy designed by @eve.kslv

Had the pleasure of designing a logo for the band Desolate ealier this year. Did a lot of freehand proposals for this one and I couldn't choose between the final few proposals. In the end the band had to choose between two versions, which is always a good thing. Thanks a ton to Desolate for entrusting me with the design and a huge shoutout to @eve.kslv for designing this amazing case study.
