Hi, my name is Sara Declercq and I’m a print and textile designer with 13+ years of experience in luxury fashion. Some of the brands I worked for are Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Victoria Beckham, and Givenchy.
Now I help brands who lack an in-house print and textile team, through consultation and by designing prints that are not only beautiful but also tell a story. Delivering hand drawn and hand painted designs with a floral and feminine touch is my niche. I create prints that are fresh, authentic, and perfectly suited for your brand.
Here’s what I offer:
•Prints for Purchase, I have a collection of finished prints available to elevate your next collection. Request a password to The Design Archive on .
•Bespoke Artwork, do you need something tailored to your collection? Or perhaps several prints that form a storyline and supports your collection? I love creating custom designs that align with your vision.
•Consultancy, do you struggle with harmony in your collections, or struggling to keep all prints on brand and on target? Maybe you want to create complex textile developments for the first time and lack the people or time to do that.
•Luxury merchandising, do you need merchandising products to support your event, music, movie, hotelshop? My favourite developper and I offer the full package, from design to retail product.
Whether you’re looking for artwork that tells a story, seeking custom designs to bring your collections to life, consultancy or have questions, I’m here to help. DM for a chat or contact me at [email protected]

Since we’re doing 2016..
I had justed started a job at Vivienne Westwood. I asked to hang out with my favourite collegue @_sineadobrien_ who would become one of my best friends today. And made some fun work obviously..
Its hard to select only a few images to celebrate the work of Valentino. Some images because they made me fall in love with fashion, I had them on my wall as a kid, others that inspired me to make prints, he mastered fabric developments like printed devorée 💗. As well as the details in the looks and exquisite embroidery designs. He’ll live forever in my pinterest 😊
For the design part of the collaboration with Fabrique, I cut the flowers from the scans and place them into a dress mock-up. I had a similar silhouette in mind, with full-length panels and a halter-style neckline.
I would have personally gone for a placed print closer to my first simulations. It often takes a few rounds back and forth to understand what the client needs. For each round, I focus primarily on getting the whitespace and scale right, then I play with colour. Design is an organic process, so I don’t wait with colour until the end — I try to weave it into the design process.
After approval, the final design is prepared for print. Once the artwork has been sent to the client, it’s out of my hands.
Spent my morning working in my little garden for the first time.
Dont mind the mess from the previous tenants, I will do a proper clean in Spring.
I got my bulbs from @farmergracy — I love their inspiration posts on which flowers to pot together so they bloom at different times.
Planted a mix of:
• Anemone: Mr Fokker
• Tulips: Vovos, Charming Lady, Rembrandt’s Strokes, Amazing Grace, Red Wave, Black Parrot, Power Parrot
• Narcissus: Hunter Sunrise, Dutch Mountain, Young Devotion
@leemathewsau Resort 25. Floral aquarelle print story, different scale, added elements — the allover variation of the print placement.
I also absolutely love this colourway.
In the Mood for Love, 2000 - Won Kar Wei
One of my favourite films. Stunning cinematography with visual storytelling of the highest level. Every still has a gorgeous colourpalette. This film really inspired me to create a floral print for the Neo-Chinese theme. I love the dramatic dark tones sitting with bright highlights of colour. I knew I wanted to explore a variety of moods with pine green, pale blue and hints of yellow and orange — plus some of the trend colours that Fabrique asked me to explore.
A quick look into the research I did for Fabrique.
The theme was neo-Chinese, so I started with the parts of Chinese culture I love the most — films, books, and painting techniques like Sumi-e.
The research kept leading me toward bright coloured palettes on a dark base.
