It’s been a great week. Lots of new work in progress and my interview for @londondesignawards and @musedotworld on their website.
We discussed about my Interior Design journey. How it started and what made me become an Interior Designer.
I grew up in a nurtured environment where my parents were both creative and open to my desires. There was always a messy big table to draw, make crafts and explore our own creativity. I had a really strong sense of home in those early years, a soulful environment that gave me confidence, calmness, openness and freedom.
Bringing this sense to my projects was the main reason I became a designer. I also wanted to bring people together, to design places where they feel they belong.
There is always on my mind my childhood’s big table where magic happens. Link in my bio to read the whole interview. The journey.
Started as a seed, an empty shell. It became a vision, a space with meaning and character. I love going back to see the process, to take it all in. Creating beauty is not easy. You need to take away so many layers, to pull down walls, create new boundaries, and give new perspectives.
I love watching a space transforming to something new. I love being there each day to see what makes it special, what needs improvement and feels right. I don’t have a ready made concept from day one. There is a great idea, a general plan and scheme that is flexible, is ready to change. This is when magic happens. When you allow yourself to see the change, to see and create something better. You just need to trust the process.
As I m heading to new projects and plans I m feeling grateful for this journey that stretched me in so many ways. I loved all those imperfect moments in chaos. There was fear, uncertainty, impatience and tiredness in all those pictures that you cannot see. But also there was connection, commitment, resilience, pride and pure joy. To all my new design adventures that are coming, I am ready, ready for the next ride.
