From the 1° text rotation to the heavy black drop-shadow frames, every element of this new identity was built to incite silliness. Itās been a blast helping this small but mighty team to scale their 10-year legacy into a global D2C-ready brand.
Out with the ordinary, in with bubblegum pop. ā”ļø
Before we stepped in, @bubblegumstuff had an in-house identity loosely inspired by the minimalist aesthetic of Airbnb. While clean, it lacked the energy needed to truly reach this generation of pop culture vultures.
Ultimately, when youāre selling eggplant squeeze bottles and banana stress balls, the branding has to be as unpredictable as the unboxing experience. So we transitioned the brand into a bold, bubblegum-pop inspired world - building ācontrolled chaosā with a flexible logo, mascot, slanted type and a āflavourā palette with swatches like āPink Fizzā, āMint Iceā & āTang Attackā.
Cheeky winkers, not in-yer-face w*nkers. š
For @bubblegumstuff , what they say is just as important as how they look. We developed a verbal identity thatās cheekily British, self-aware (without being smart-arses), and unapologetically daft.
By bringing a matter-of-fact dryness to their less-than-usual products, we ensured the brand keeps its audience on their toes without ever sounding like theyāre trying too hard. No-nonsense kinda nonsense, globally delivered.

Meet the rascals. š At the heart of the new @bubblegumstuff visual identity is a brand new sticky, chewy, stretchy character thatās ready to POP! We developed a character system where a single piece of gum exists in endless forms ā from a fresh stick to a chewed-up splat or a blown-out bubble.

For the Fish Fight: Adults Only expansion, we dove headfirst into dangerous waters ā designing a scandalous set of NSFW cards and illustrations thatāll make your nan blush.
Same game, new rules: more innuendo, more chaos, and way too many questionable positions. Because even fish need safe words š

Fish Fight! š¦ Each fish was illustrated and crafted by our team, every one with its own ridiculous personality. Thereās the athletic pink team, rocking sporty mankinis and fishy abs, and the badass green team, serving lipstick, fishnets, and pure evil attitude. Ready to make waves.
We also illustrated all the gameplay movements across the cards - capturing every ridiculous throw, flop and plop in motion. Possibly the most fun anatomy study weāve ever done.
Round three: things get fishical. šš„
We wanted every part of Fish Fight to feel as stupidly joyful as the game itself. We imagined a world of high-drama wrestling meets deep-sea disco.. No perfect throws, no graceful winners - just floppinā, ploppinā, pure chaotic fun.
