In 2025, studio audal got commissioned with a very special private garden design. One that aims to create space for biodiversity as well as a therapeutic setting for its owners. A space to recenter, disconnect and reconnect: an anti-burnout garden.
The planting and landscape elements have been chosen following a nature-inclusive design process. The materials have been sourced are local and recirculated.

In 2024, studio audal's proposal for Rosendals Torg square in Uppsala made it the final round of this invited competition. Elaborated with @arkiteka.se & @for_elize , we are very proud of "Liv’s gröna torg" and the stand we took with it: as cities expand and neighborhoods grow, it is key for municipalities to give space for green and wildlife within the urban fabric, both for human inhabitants and as ecological stepping stones for all other species. We designed this square as an urban forest, blurring the line between square and park design, offering a protective clearing for its future users.
Most of the materials are reused from demolished buildings in the vicinity.
Bricks are crushed into a stabilized gravel, giving a warm atmosphere that reflects the typical red houses of Sweden paired with reused roof tiles as cladding for the seating elements. Various types of stones and pavers are reused as pavement for the sun square, resulting in a playful patchwork pattern.
Topography is incorporated to create water buffers for drainage and a multi-layered vegetation approach is established to make the square a stepping stone within the wider ecological network.

In 2024, studio audal collaborated with @urbanclimate_architects & @vinkbouw.nl to design an intergenerational housing building and its courtyard in Leiden.
Timber structure and nature-inclusive design were both key-topics for this proposal aiming to arrange both senior housing units and a daycare on the groundfloor. The courtyard, like a continuation of the existing urban fabric, offers a tailored community garden, next to the playground and the neighboring park.
Critical point of the project, the parking area has been imagined as flexible and erasable over time.

In 2024, studio audal got contacted by the inhabitants of Dreef street, in 't Veld.
They had decided to challenge their municipality @hollandskroon to support them in renaturalizing the roadside grassbeds into a more bio-diverse, nature-inclusive landscape.
Through participative design and thanks to a motivated group of neighbors, the roadscape had a full nature-inclusive revamp during a collaborative planting day.
Today, the motivated neighbors are therefore responsible for the care & maintenance of the refreshed plantbeds of Dreef street. Enough to inspire the surrounding streets to join their effort?

In 2024, studio audal realized the surrounding landscape design for @urbanclimate_architects 's @urbanwoodsofficial in Delft.
The Plantproof concept of Urban Woods is an ambitious hybrid housing concept for modern society.
To create a nature inclusive building, studio audal was commissioned to draft a biodiverse outdoor plan, where both human and fauna can live in harmony. Based on the ambassador species prescribed by @faunest_architect , the landscape plan consists of a sequence of borders with year round, attractive plants that accommodate inhabitants as much as local fauna.
Responding to the special animal shelters implemented on each balcony's pots for various fruit trees, specific edible and aromatic species provide food both for humans and for the chosen ambassador species.
