A chance meeting underwater led to this project. I met this client while diving in Malta, and months later, that conversation turned into designing a modern log wood cabin tucked into the forested lakes of Kouvola, Finland. The brief was ambitious: a generous two-bedroom cabin plus a separate Finnish sauna, all within a strict 100 m² zoning limit. The solution came from the land itself. By working with the natural slope, the cabin feels grounded on both levels, minimizing the footprint while maximizing space. Carefully carved terraces, deep overhangs, and subtle shifts in the building’s geometry blur the line between inside and out, creating outdoor rooms that feel just as intentional as the interiors. The upper level is clad in charred wood, resting on an exposed concrete ground floor that helps break down the building’s mass and connect it to local building traditions. A project shaped by place, constraint, and an unexpected connection. #architecturedesign #moderncabin #scandinavianarchitecture #woodarchitecture #designstory

Years in the making, this home is finally taking its place in the hills of Aibonito; quietly perched in the central mountains of Puerto Rico, where life has a slower pace and the landscape does the talking. Defined by minimalist white plaster, exposed concrete, and weathered corten steel, the architecture was shaped by one guiding principle: honor the view. Every room is oriented toward the south-west, framing uninterrupted sunsets that stretch from the mountains to the horizon. An open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling glass, and expansive sliding doors dissolve the boundary between inside and out, allowing light, breeze, and landscape to move freely through the home. On the clearest days, the reward is extraordinary, giving you glimpses of the Caribbean Sea in the distance. A house rooted in restraint, patience, and place. Construction is nearly complete, yet already deeply connected to its surroundings. #ArchitectureLovers #MinimalistArchitecture #TropicalModern #PuertoRicoArchitecture #Aibonito

Building more than a Campus. Creating a future. Planned as the second phase following the completion of the house mother home, this expanded @setherfree campus near the community of Bombo is designed to create a safe, welcoming haven for vulnerable girls facing poverty, discrimination, human trafficking, and other gender-based barriers. The campus is designed to strengthen SET HER FREE’s mission of improving girls’ lives through education, health, safety, and opportunity — empowering each girl to lead a self-determined life and become a force for change in her community. Thoughtful architecture rooted in local culture and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens helps create spaces that feel secure, dignified, and inspiring. Designed as a self-sustaining environment, the campus will include income-generating and community-supporting programs such as a kindergarten, elementary school, and medical clinic. Sustainability is embedded throughout, with rainwater collection, solar energy, passive ventilation, and on-site farming to support daily meals and long-term resilience. This second-phase campus will serve up to 200 girls, along with 90 kindergarten students and 200 elementary students from nearby villages — expanding impact while strengthening the surrounding community. #setherfree #sustainablearchitecture #uganda #africanarchitecture

A sunset view of a fun project designed for the house mother of Set Her Free, a nonprofit based in Kampala that supports vulnerable girls and young women in Uganda - offering shelter, education, vocational training, and rehabilitative care so they can build independent, healthier lives. This house takes the traditional Ugandan architectural language and materials to develop a familiar yet contemporary space for the house mother and some of the girls. #uganda #architecture #design
