❤️DRESS CIRCLE BAR❤️ Opening night was a massive success for our cast and crew! Afterwards we all got together and celebrated in the dress circle bar of His Majesty's Theatre! It was a such an amazing opportunity to thank all of the wonderful people who helped to put our show together and award the famous "Scotland the What? Prize"! 🏆 The "Scotland the What? Prize" was donated by "Scotland the What?", the Scottish comedy revue act comprising William "Buff" Hardie, Stephen Robertson and George Donald who were all involved in Aberdeen Student Show various times throughout the 1950s and 60s in various roles! ✨ Every year it’s awarded to the member of the company who has shown to have made the most outstanding contribution to the Student Show of that year, someone who really represents the Spirit Of Show! 🌟 This year we were pleased to award this prize to the absolutely incredible...Emmie Macgilivray! 🥰

❤️OPENING NIGHT❤️ To celebrate our opening night, here’s a wee note from our wonderful Administrator, Emmah🥰: Fit Like Abdy! I am beyond delighted to be celebrating Aberdeen Student Show’s 105th year by welcoming you to our 109th production, ‘Cove Actually’. We are overjoyed to be back at His Majesty’s Theatre bringing you a rare nicht oot once again! Last year’s production, ‘Seagully Blonde’ raised a record-breaking £167, 439.04 for 50 local charities in the North East of Scotland - fit, like it’s hard? Now the first question people always ask is, ‘How do they do this in four weeks?’ and honestly, six Student Show’s in I am still wondering…The truth is, ‘Cove Actually’ is the product of much more than 4 weeks of rehearsal, but months of preparation and hard work put in by some of the most amazing creatives Aberdeen has to offer. Every member of the administration, production, script and technical team has been instrumental in making this production possible and I cannot thank them enough. As always, this year’s Student Show is brought to you by students from the University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon’s University and North East Scotland College. As students, it is so special to be able to contribute to our community while having lots of fun and celebrating all things Aberdeen. ‘Cove Actually’ is truly a love letter to the North East and I am so proud of every member of the cast for working so hard to bring this show to life. Student Show would not be possible without all of the support from local businesses who have sponsored us. Thanks to them, all of the profits from our ticket sales will go directly to the 50 local charities we are supporting this year! We want to give a massive shout out to the amazing band for helping making the show come to life!
