SHAME: Florida Gov. DeSantis just signed a dangerous bill forcing more guns on public college campuses. This comes just one year after the horrific shooting at FSU where two university employees were shot and killed and six others were wounded. We have been calling on our lawmakers to do the bare minimum and pass common-sense measures that make our schools safer. They did the opposite — it will only lead to more gun violence. Shame on every single lawmaker who chose the gun lobby over our lives. We will vote you out in November.

It’s been almost nine months since the horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and state lawmakers are still dragging their feet on an assault weapons ban. Today, @UMNSDA students and @MN_MomsDemandAction made it clear: They won’t stand for inaction. Assault weapons have no place in our communities. We demand a ban on deadly weapons of war like the one used at Annunciation Catholic School. If our lawmakers won’t act to keep us safe, we’ll put them out of a job in November. 📹: KARE 11

🚨 THIS. IS. MAJOR! 🚨 Gov. @AbigailSpanberger signed a slate of 20+ gun safety bills into law, including an assault weapons ban! These deadly weapons of war are designed to shoot as many people as possible as quickly as possible, and they have no place in our communities. “This is what happens when we elect gun sense champions who are ready to do the hard work of saving lives. They listened to us, they heard our concerns, and they changed laws to prove that our lives are worth more than the gun industry’s bottom line.” - Ruby, @titansdemandaction leader Shoutout to Virginia Students Demand Action leaders! Thank you for writing letters, calling, and testifying in support of these critical bills. THANK YOU for making your voices heard. 📣 Because of your hard work, Virginians will be safer from gun violence. ❤️ Want to help keep your communities safe? Text STUDENTS to 644-33 to join the movement!

Four years ago today, a white supremacist entered a Tops Friendly Markets in a Black neighborhood in Buffalo, New York. He opened fire at shoppers and employees with an AR-15 while yelling racist slurs. In minutes, he shot and killed ten people, all of whom were Black, and wounded three others. Gun extremists appeal to white supremacists’ disgusting paranoia by pushing guns as the solution. In 2017, a joint report from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security found that guns “pose the greatest threat of lethal violence by [white supremacists] due to their availability and ease of use.” People should NEVER have to fear being shot because of the color of their skin. We hold the victims, survivors, and the entire Buffalo community impacted by this hate-fueled shooting in our hearts. We’ll continue to fight to #DisarmHate in their honor.

This past Saturday should have been a fun and memorable prom night for 17-year-old Saturah Hayes and her friends. But Saturah never made it to prom after being gunned down in a park while taking photos. Five others were wounded, including a 13-year-old and another student who was pregnant. Saturah's nursing teacher said she was one class away from becoming a CNA. Now, the world will never know what else she would have contributed due to senseless gun violence. We should not have to pay for unfettered access to guns with our lives.
