It means a lot to win the Bristol Music Legends award courtesy of @bristol247 for the “events” section of their recent award ceremony. Running Teachings in Dub for 19 years has been a lot of work so it’s nice to be recognised. Thanks to all the soundsytems who make TID what it is and a special mention to the people behind the scenes at @bristoltrinity and at TID who help to keep things running. Huge big up to everyone who buys a ticket and keeps returning for more Teachings. Give thanks!

What a Joy! Nothing would please Ras B more than how we all gathered for him today on his earthstrong. Bless up to the Selassie family and the @rastafariculturecentre for organising such a special afternoon and the grand unveiling of the incredible mural. As Ras B would say “waaaaatch and praaaayee to the word!” 💚💛❤️
Forever remembering Jah Shaka because we can’t forget the heights this great soundman took us to for so long. Clip from my recent set with Solo Banton supporting David Rodigan on Firmly Rooted Sound where I celebrated 30 years on the airwaves 1996 - 2026. Throughly enjoyed this set and am looking forward to doing more 30 years on air celebrations like this; get in touch if you fancy it. Blessed love
A snippet from @negusmelodysound in session last Friday at @kuumbabristol playing alongside @vedic_roots for a night of deep Roots & Culture! For those that don’t know, I was a member of Negus Melody from its very beginnings and even before when Ras Addis, Ras Kama and I were known as the Roots Spot crew. A trio that began in the late 90’s as a pirate radio show until we also took the vibes into the dancehall. Kama had always had the idea to call the sound Negus Melody so when we joined forces with Levi who had built the sound, that’s what we called it. We played Channel One, Iration Steppas, and King Earthquake to name just a few. For me, as a youth, this experience gave me so much inspiration and vibes. Trodding among the deepest Nyahbinghi Rasta people, guided by our elder Ras Bandele Selassie and linking with idrens such as Ras Umi (who also later joined the sound), Lidj Xylon, Ras Natural, Ras Iyah, Afrikan Simba, Dub Judah and many more. Dub hunting missions to various studios in London. Reaching sessions together; Aba at Imperial Gardens and Brixton Rec plus of course we’d follow Shaka around the entire country. Around 2006 I had to make the hard decision to leave the sound and further my venture with Dubkasm which I’d started with Digistep way before. This was always an amicable departure and I give nuff thanks for this chapter in my life. This history is why it was such a a joy to see Negus Melody in session again (now being run solely by Ras Kama) especially with longtime bredrin Aqua Livi on microphone duties. Big up @isaac.aylward for making the session happen. As I used to say on the mic: “Negus Melody with the musical remedy!” Keep up the works Kama. Blessed Love! 🔥🔈
Live on air today with the latest and greatest in Roots and Dubwise on vinyl. Tuuuuune in 16:00 by jumping on the @rinse.fm app and hitting the @swu.fm tab! Bag full of freshness! Let go! 🔥🔈😎
It was just a couple of years ago we both sat at Ras B’s yard just before he tranistioned and now you’ve gone to join him. So many elders leaving us. It has been a pleasure to know you Judah. From you joining me on my radio show decades ago to seeing you at Easton gym, to bumping into you regularly while you’d do your run (which always inspired me so much).
Talking of your run; I remember you telling me the story of how mentally everytime you’d get to the part of the cycle track that I live by you’d mark it in your head as “ah Stryda’s yard” knowing you’d reached a certain point. Something I always think of when I’m nearing the same spot.
Sending my condolences out to Leon and the rest of the family. Bristol has lost another foundation elder. RIEP Ras Judah 😢
The final sunset of 2025. Retreating into nature keeps me sane in the big city madness. Happy New Year to everyone and remembering those who are no longer with us. ❤️🙏
