As international news outlets, world leaders, and major social media platforms continue to censor and distort the narrative while fueling the dehumanization of Palestinians and their ongoing suffering, we are using our channels to support the forcibly canceled Palestine Cinema Days Festival. On November 2, the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, we are organizing over 500 Palestinian film screenings around the world. Join us for some experimental movement workshops, this summer every Monday 16-18 Uhr.
We will explore performative ways of protest, using the improvisation techniques of 'Structures for Change' as a basis to dance and move together in the rhythm of our political and social movement. Moving from circles to partners, big to small groups and back, we'll find the physical poetry of our battlecries brought in from books, lyrics, anthems and manifestos - shared stretagies for fairer world and freedom dreams.
Everyone is welcome, no matter what experience or movement abilities you bring with you. No registration required!

Quebrando Cuerpos: Transborder Moves in Dire Times
In this lecture-workshop, participants will explore the various transborder knowledges their bodies carry, situating themselves in diasporic crossings while learning how quebradita dancers have historically engaged transborder techniques to create belonging beyond borders. Through engaging in movidas—moves that resist and invite social change—we will delve into how quebradita’s transborder techniques cultivate collective joy, while reflecting on how these practices can inform our own transborder connections. Participants will have the opportunity to craft and experiment with their own crossings, examining the beyond-border potentials their bodies hold through play, bounce, embrace, and oscillation. The workshop will culminate in a dance rueda, where participants will come together to build transnational dance floors, crafting joy in the face of adversity.
Irvin Manuel Gonzalez (he/él/they/elle) is an artivist, scholar, community organizer, and teacher. He received his PhD in Critical Dance Studies from the University of California, Riverside in 2021. Gonzalez’s scholarship analyzes how immigrant, queer, and working-class Latin American social dancers navigate hegemonic forces through feeling and creativity while situating creative constructions of/for belonging. He is currently Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University.
