It is so frustrating listening to myself sometimes. Things are so much more obvious from the outside. I only post the very roughest of my playing from the first part of my day before I'm warmed up on here. There's a reason.
So this being the first take, from here I'm going on to work on feel. I'm cutting my ghost notes short and coming in with the next note too early, if you look back at the previous video, there's a very similar issue.
I'm losing a lot of control from my hand being so high up on the bow no wonder it was feeling heavy. This is about 40 minutes into looking it up on imslp.

Greetings from the road! Got a few days before my next public gig, so in the mean time, let me share with you “Traveler’s Blessing”, as recorded for the 2026 #tinydeskcontest (Full video on YouTube, link in bio).
We recorded this live take after a marathon 12-hour day in the studio tracking my upcoming EP “Lessons from The Other Side”.
As the EP is inspired by, and dedicated to the memories of three dear friends and musicians who are no longer with us, it was a particular joy to record this with some dear friends and musicians who are very much alive and pickin’: @contrablake on bass, @stringserum on violin, @elibentleymusic on banjo, Gavin Haskin (of @bobmpls ) on mandolin, and @alphalooni behind the board.
I hope this song is able to bring you some of the comfort that it’s brought me.
