On my 30th birthday, I said farewell to a wild decade… and also to a name.
As I step into this next chapter, I’m officially stepping in as Pearl.
Megan has always meant pearl — a derivative of Margaret, rooted in the Latin–Greek margarita.
It feels correct to finally step into the name that’s been sitting quietly at the center of me all along.
I’m honouring everything Meg carried me through, and letting go of what’s ready to dissolve.
A shedding.
For years I held back, worried about asking others to adjust — worried about taking up space.
I know I am safe and I am held, and I trust my community to support me in this transition.
Pearl arrives with a different kind of clarity.
A steadiness.
A softness sharpened by time and truth.
Thank you for being on this journey with me, and for seeing me.
